dunno moons gotta be more challenging than debating the big questions with gouda.

You mean the dogs?
It's not allowed here, didn't you know.
Lets just say I have three very different types and I have trained them all very well.
There is no debating gouda, he is what he is.

I cranked out a hundred rounds for my .357 today, what did you do today, of course mine's over yours is still going on.

Are those hot loads? grain? jhp? Ball?

by Two Moons on 17 October 2013 - 23:10
Sorry Carlin,
I stepped out for a bit.
Not hot, still working them up, more for accuracy than velocity.
Chart says 1220 fps, 158gr. Speer JHP.
Win.231 powder which is not the best choice for a magnum but I have a lot of it.
These are a bit lighter than the Magtech's I was shooting, but the groups are tighter.

That's quick. I'd be curious what the energy is like at impact. Some swear by the heavier bullets, but I always looked at the whole equation. A 200gr+ gr .45 has a lot of mass, but it's moving slower. I don't think the sectional density makes up for it much either.

by Two Moons on 18 October 2013 - 00:10
Unless the round stops in the mass the full energy is not used up.
These would pass right through most things, where as a .45 acp would stop and you'd get the full energy.
These will shoot much flatter than my .45, but my .45 acp will knock down what I hit, 230gr. ball.
I know there are formulas but i'm not that concerned about it, I just want a tight group.
