My roosters usually stayed with their own hens (same breed), but roosters of the same breed fought to see who'd breed.
I had five different breeds together usually, sometimes more.
Maybe he's just new meat...hens get bored too.....lol

I have him penned up with few hens right now, till he gets used to the place.. Don't want  him to wander off and be fox chow LOL.. I have only one other Roo, a huge Buff Orpingon, he is kind of a sissy.. The hens run his ass around.. He acting bad cause new guy is behind a fence.. He'll get straight when I let the other one out.. His sensitivity was the reason I gave away my old Roos, they beat him up too much..

Love the buff color but the best I ever had all round were Rhode Island Reds.
Best layers, most efficient, and my red rooster would stand his ground around real game cocks that we trained.

Foxes, owls, cats, even mink and weasels here to worry about, fed plenty of critters to the local wildlife.

Hope ole fuzzy ass makes it.
