Red Sable, I don't know where you found that, but it reflects my complaints about the "news" 100%.
Super post.
Super post.

Not surprising when you consider how industry protects its profit:
- Directly lobbying elected officials ($750M spent on fighting fracking research and legislation; $700M to stop tighter regulation on medical devices; $900M on keeping government out of pharmaceutical research and regulation)
- Creating false and parallel science to contaminate research data, industry believes the general public will not dig further and take what media portrays at face value, media bought by industry (climate change, lead poisoning, vinyl chloride, formaldehyde, silica, etc)
- Creating and/or funding think tanks, advocacy groups, and organizations by Donors Trust for the specific purpose of confounding legitimate science data (names given to these "made up" organizations to make consumers believe the organization is for consumers and against industry, again counting on "the laziness of the American public to take our media information at face value" )
- Attacking scientists directly and personally, either suing them or, a favorite, is subpoenaing their private emails, texts, messages, etc for the express purpose of finding ANYTHING that may case doubt on their credibility even if it has nothing to do with the research and the cost to the scientists to defend themselves in court is financially draining (Woods Hold Oceanographic Institution scientists were treated thusly after being asked by BP to estimate how much oil was spilling from Deepwater Horizon, when the scientists found the amount was much greater than BP said, BP tried to discredit them, the result is scientists are reluctant to become involved; American Chemistry Council is suing the State of California for putting bisphenal A on its toxins list, bisphenal A is a carcinogen and disrupts the endocrine system, massive amounts of research support this yet it still is found in everything from plastic to the receipt you get from the store)
- Suing foundations that support and fund research where the data conflicts with the industry's profits, suing scientific journals that publish the results, suing the peer review panel, suing universities, etc
- Cutting funding to major scientific organizations such as National Institutes of Health (NIH) = $1.6B, National Science Foundation (NSF) = $283M, American Association for the Advancement of Science = $9.3B, and cuts to NOAA, NASA, USGS and others that study everything from weather forecasting (better forecasting for tornado and hurricane paths, drought, flooding, etc), climate forecasts, water table monitoring, fisheries, animal husbandry, nature, etc (NIH and NSF fund research grants where the competition is intense and the scrutiny of the research proposal and subsequent results is extreme with no bias for or against tolerated, must be objective with the hypothesis/es approved prior to the research conducted so no designing the research to get the answer you want, rather pure research for the sake of learning; research that is done to further the fundamental understanding of our world and not designed to produce immediate profit, so this should greatly concern people)
3,000 Americans died and 48 million became sick from food and food related infections last year. 4,500 workplace deaths last year costing almost half a trillion dollars. An example is that John Hopkins found elevated levels of arsenic in chicken meat, arsenic is a carcinogen. Arsenic based drugs make chickens grow faster and give the meat that nice pink color, it treats and prevents parasites as well. Currently there is no federal law prohibiting the sale or use of arsenic in poultry feed.
There are 85,000 chemicals out there today and only a small handful have been tested for safety. Gov Rick Perry stated "he was comfortable with the amount of oversight in industry" following the Texas fertilizer plant explosion (plant owned by Monsanto) when there were known violations in that plant. The federal Safe Drinking Water Act has 1,500 exemptions that allow industry to pollute aquifers and drinking water without fear of liability and subsequent lawsuits.
Monsanto now has it's fingers in so many pies from seed producers to pharmacy companies, it is frightening

Monsanto doesn't have fingers in everything. They want you to think they do, so there's no opposition.
Farmers are smart.
SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL ROADSIDE FARMERS and MARKETS !!!
Farmers have the power to feed the people ... AND we choose WHO !!!!!

Got Milk ? LMAO

by Mindhunt on 01 June 2013 - 20:06
BE4U - I do and I love the produce from many of the roadside stands I pass, I also hit the Farmer's Market every chance I get (besides I get great lessons on picking the best produce and meats lol). I miss not having my farmers here to purchase meat from although I did find both organic and fresh markets that get supplies from local farmers (nice to see pearly white fat on chicken not that sickening yellow yucky fat with that artificial pink flesh and the beef and pork is awesome). I also used to hit the docks when they have their "buy locally caught seafood" day (although it is sadly becoming a thing of the past and I miss my hogfish and monkfish). Now if I could just find fresh whole milk not homogenized, hey do you ship lol???

Mind hunt, I have some beautiful, fresh goat meat in the freezer. Goat meat is the healthiest red meat you can get. No cholesterol, no marbled fat in the meat, tender and tastes better than beef or Buffalo ( and I love buffalo meat). Where you at, you can come get some.

Joanro, never had goat meat, hmmmmmm. What's the best way to fix it? Live on the Gulf Coast of Florida south of Tampa, miss my Michigan trees, grass, and cooler weather (as do the dogs).
BE4U - Fresh cows milk???

Joanro,
you mentioned seed banks and pure seeds some time back.
Corruption has already taken place so where are these pure seeds going to come from?
BE,
farmers are smart?
Who do you think has been planting these GMO's?
And why, surely not because they are smart, it's simply buying into a lie for profit.
These companies who are now exempt from liability, hold patents and will soon enough own all crops globally.
Hunger is more powerful than any man made weapon could ever be in controlling human population on this planet.
Burn it all down could stop some things from progressing even further, but it won't fix or undo what has already been done, which is a lot.
Milk?
What do we feed our cattle?
What are they exposed to that we have no control over.
I say we are a little late personally, but better late than never.

Moons, the seed banks have been in place pre-GMO and Monsanto destruction.
