Two Moons

BabyEagle,
you are becoming quite the philosopher.

Imagine this,
you are looking into a microscope, one that hasn't even been invented yet, you see deeper into something than has never been witnessed before.
You see a universe, and in that universe someone else is doing the same thing, and so on and so on.
Then look up into the heavens and imagine someone else is there looking down on you., and so on and so on.
Mind boggling is it not.
Ever see a mirror reflecting another mirror?
Infinity.

But hey, you keep on keeping on with the 42 and I'll keep on keeping on with the 1.  LMAO

Two Moons

And that means what?

BabyEagle4U

Ahh there are quantum limits to mirrors ?  LMAO

Two Moons

The only limit to the mirror trick is light.

I doubt it Moons .. even if the mirrors are absolutely parallel the quantum relativity will override mirror reflections before the quantum limit is even reached. I would think.

But I dunno. I never did understand Aristotle way of thinking .. he twisted together logic, analytics and dialectics to the point of confusion.

BabyEagle,
it is very obvious what you do and don't understand.
All I can say is we need to change our priorities or we will definately not survive ourselves.

Sorry BE I didn't understand a word (or number) of that
post.  Care to spell it out slowly in English for me and
anyone else who is clearly a simpleton ?

WTF is that smell ?  Could it be BS ?

BE,

Your post reminded me of two excellent books for children about Math. Sorry if this is a bit off topic, but both books are really good. Don't know what your son's age is for appropriateness, but check them out.

GSDtravels

BabyEagle, my mind is wide open, to evidence.  Any evidence would do and you have provided none.  You may think some of it has merit, and it may, and there's nothing wrong with you believing it... any of it or all of it.  But that is not evidence, sorry.  You spout all the usual creationist buzz phrases, while parroting all of the claims that have been disproven time and again, by science.

The thing you and many others don't understand about science is, it's got no opinion on the existence of something it can't test. Science is mute, when it comes to any god and it will remain so, because there is no testable data.  That's what many try to explain when speaking of the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus, Unicorns and the Spaghetti Monster.  None can be disproven by science because none are testable.  In that way, they are all identical.  You take that as an insult, but it is a fact.  Anything that you can possibly imagine has just as much merit and that's okay.  It's okay as long as you're not forcing others to believe it.  It shouldn't matter, in the grand scheme of things, because we're guaranteed the right to our own conscience and none are trying to take yours away.  They're tired of just letting it go and they're pointing out they reasons they have for not buying what you're selling.  You consider that a violation of your rights.  What you don't grasp is, it's a response to the religious restricting the rights of others, and those others have the right to protest shackles, of the mind as well as the body.

If you could just grasp the true meaning and need for secularity, you'd be part of the solution, instead of part of the problem.  And those who are so rigid will even argue when I point out the positive things about religion, when I do.  They are so convinced that I am anti-religious, it's as if they produce creationist-type arguments to dispute anything I say.  I'm the enemy and they have no idea what I believe and what I don't, it's none of their damned business.  That's my most personal space.  There are only so many that I invite so far in and none on this board are on the list.  In my entire life, there are probably three or four people who understand me the most, and everyone else is wrong :)  There are many nuggets to what makes me dream, but I don't share them.  I don't care if you agree, it's that simple.  But I don't want to have to pretend I put that much importance on my neighbor's dreams,  When they close their door at night, I don't care what they do, as long as they're good neighbors.  I don't care what Church they go to, or if they even attend.  I could care less, it doesn't matter to me, as long as they're trustworthy... which brings me to another point.  99.99% of the dishonest people I know, profess to be Christians.  The others are the ones who don't say.  And I only know two Muslims and one Mormon.(okay, throw in two or three Jehova's Witnesses), so you do the math.  There is one family member who has admitted being an Atheist.  It shouldn't be a discussion, it should be personal.  No two people completely agree 100% with any one doctrine, we all have our own interpretations, as is evident, just on this board.  Even the Christians can't agree, there are too many opinions ---------->>>> because we are individuals.  And as individuals, we should respect the privacy of our brothers' and sisters' consciences.  As long as we afford each other the same rights, there will be no argument.  That's how it should be and that is the raw definition of secularism.

Now tell me, do you not agree that there should be neutral ground?

I remember when people berated you for saying you saw a Thunderbird.  I didn't make fun of you, because it's just as likely as the existence of Shtal's and Gouda's angry God.  I can't disprove it, so I won't.  The difference was, you weren't using it to tell other people that you were claiming to have divine right over others, using the Thunderbird.  You may see them, it's possible and that's cool.

We shouldn't have a problem with any belief, as sane or insane as it may seem to some.  But then, that's the point, none is more valid than the other and those touting any as "proof" will do so because they're trying to convince you that they have a valid reason to limit your rights.  If they kept it in their homes, in their Churches, in their Clubs or any private venue, there would be no problem.  It's when they attempt to claim supreme rights to a morality that has little to do with fairness in the secular world, that it becomes a problem.  The problem is, they don't want a secular world to exist, they want to rule.  That's where the line is drawn.  Their morality cannot dictate another's morality, when no personal rights are being violated.  They are claiming divine right, without evidence, and without consent.  I will fight that to my dying breath, no matter the dogma fueling it.  It's not the dogma I fight, until it claims divine right.  Their rights do not trump mine, sorry.

Your morality cannot legislate the same for others, when they're allowing you yours.  And that's the only point I've ever tried to make here.  When I'm greeted by deaf ears, while being bombarded by Biblical quotes, I will challenge it, with reasons to promote secularism.

Anyone who needs a parent to be a good little boy or girl, has a major problem, IMHO.  And if religion is the ONLY thing that keeps some of you from raping, murdering, stealing, lying and so on, I can only hope you'll keep it up :)

If you want to live with only like-minded people, take a look at the Quakers, some Mennonite sects and of course, the Amish.  They understand and they bother none.  The do it right.

Peace
