Hundmutter, I think your question is a good one. I do not like to be lumped together with other processing Christians on this thread or any other thread here on the database so i wanted to make this distinction first....

I would like to answer your question as it is a very fine question indeed,,. Scripture teaches us that all humans are born in a sinful state. This is an inherited disposition that we instinctively have before we even premeditatedly decide to do anything that could be considered sinful. Sinful meaning anything directly opposed to God"s law, commandments, and His holy nature..

If we were judged according to human standards, then you are right in suggesting that some are less guilty of sinful behavior then others. We can all agree that the murderer's crime is much more heinous then that of the person who lies. However, the standard in which we must compare to is "perfect holiness"...God is holy and His requirement is perfect holiness and obedience to His laws and standards.

That is why Christ death on the cross is so significant..It is the way in which God provided, and fulfilled that requirement. The old term," if you want a job done right do it yourself"...God saw that all of humankind was unable to satisfy this high standard or requirement, so in His kindness and mercy He provided Himself,,His Son. to be our replacement,,..Only Christ is good enough, perfect and holy enough to meet such a requirement. Some accept this truth with great joy and gratitude and as a result desire to live a life of obedience, love, and gratitude towards God...

The problem comes when bad doctrine gets folks believing that it was something they did to earn, deserve, or merit God's kind gift we have in Christ,,Many are taught that it is by good choosing, good works, and all other matters of human acts/effort that has provided them this benefit. The truth is that unless God would create such a desire or understanding not one single human being would seek or desire to obtain a right standing before God. We would all happily enter into hell at our deaths rather then acknowledge our desperate need of God's gift of His Son Jesus,,

No human is better then the next, the distinction is some believe what God has said in His word and some do not..I do not condemn anyone for not believing,,I would not believe either had I been left to my own devices..The Bible is unbelievable IMO,,It goes against all natural understanding of logic,,It is only by faith that anyone could believe such things,,And that faith is a gift from God Himself,,Whoever asks God for understanding will find understanding, and whoever seeks God will surely find Him..What joy to have this hope and promise!!,,,

Bottom line is that if you choose to ignore what God has provided in Christ then that is your business. I am not your keeper,,I do not then threaten you or condemn you..I accept that you do not believe and continue to live my life minding my own business,,I have many unbelieving friends and family we have a solid relationship based on love and respect..We do not agree on biblical theology, but we still love and respect each other,,Sometimes do our different belief systems complicate things, yes, it does at times..I am happy to say that since I have come down from my high horse of hypocrisy it has served my relationships with others very well...I thank God for showing me the error of my way in that regard,,,

Sorry for the lengthy post..

Deanna..:)

Ruger - thank you, I guess you are 'my kind' of Christian.

Still have an underlying problem though - the religious see
the world as containing right & wrong decided by God.  So
if the atheists do 'wrong' by not believing, they can be either
abused, warned, OR tolerated  ... BUT THE ATHEIST IS STILL
WRONG.

Now what if there is no 'wrong', because God doesn't exist ?

What if everything we reckon to be ethical / moral about the
way we live a 'good' life, instead of a 'bad' one,  DEPENDS
PURELY ON HUMAN BEINGS' DECISIONS ?  [Can y'all even
begin to walk a mile in my shoes ?]

My reply--  EZE. 3:18   When I say unto the wicked, thou shalt surely die;and thou givest him not warning, nor speaketh to warn the wicked from his wicked way,
to save his life;the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity;but his blood will I require at thine hand.

19-- Yet if thow warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way,
he shall die in his iniquity;but thou hast delivered thy soul.

20Again, when a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him,he shall die:
because thou hast not given him warning,he shall die in his sin,and his righteous which he hath done shall not be remembered;
but his blood will I require at thine hand.

21 Never the less if thow warn the righteous man,and the righteous  sin not,and he doth not sin,he shall surely live, because he is warned;also thou hast delivered thou soul.

God told Eze. to be a watchman.  God told EZE. TO DELIVER GODS MESSAGE TO HIS PEOPLE,WHETHER THEY WILL HEAR,OR WHETHER THEY WILL FORBARE.

You see LadyFrost The. majority of the posters here are Christians, mabey back sliders maybey not..The are certainly not in the dog and swine category
I love all the christians on this board, and love to have fellowship with them.  Should I leave them because there are some Matt. 7:6 people here.
Should I let people like GSDtravel have a freehand to slaughter the baby christian that may happen to visit this forum?

 Have a nice day
