1 Corinthians 7:3-5 The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5 Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control

I don't actually read the Bible either, so I couldn't tell you where they got it from? (I just try to be a good person who does the right thing.)
Wow, never read that bit before! I don't do well with the wife needs to subjugate, or be submissive parts, I'm afraid! Seems to be saying it's okay to deny sex to your partner, if you would rather be praying! But don't sit there praying forever?

Bee I have never read any of her books but next week when I go to the library I will certainly check it out. I think I have seen it in our library. If not I can order it from another branch. You know that is odd because those are the kind of books I read. I am into Laurie Snelling and several more I can't think of right now. I also read a lot of Amish/Mennonite books--Beverly Lewis, Cindy Woodsmall, Wanda Brunstetter and again several more that I can't think of right now. Anytime you read anything in those catagories and you want to share please feel free to PM me or make a new post. Thanks. BTW my daughter is more Choctaw then Chickasaw on her dad's side and she is really proud of her dad's folks. I will have to tell her about the book also.

You already stated this same thing many times from the past, I just don't see any reason to do it again; and administrative of this site personally PM'd me and said I have full green light to talk about religion, if you still have a problem then my suggestion to you take this issue with PM's to administrative of this site.
Thank you.
Shtal :-)

Vonissk, I read it a while back, and it was an eye opener for me, into the plight of the Native Americans on the reservations to keep their people in their culture. It detailed both sides of the situation in a story of a woman who wants to adopt an (abused and traumatized) Native American... I think it was Cherokee?, very young girl, who is suddenly given to her as she is making a cross country journey.
Hope you enjoy it, but as you are living it, your response might be different to mine. If you do read it, it would be interesting to hear what you think about it in a new thread, perhaps?

I will call the library Monday and see if they have it and if not they can order it for me. I have something I am deep into right now and only lack a few pages to finish it but then I have the next one in the series and I want to read it also. I have to finish it by the 26th as it is rechecked.
I will be glad to make a new post on it and we can discuss it. The only problem I have with a lot of writers is they get just a teeny bit of info and then take off and fill in the blanks with a lot of untruths. But knowing her rep I seriously doubt Barbara K. would do that--I know one of my long time friends is a big fan of hers and knowing Louise as I do she wouldn't read them if they were full of bull.
Thanks for the heads and the info BTW.

Another case of the religous nit wits pushing their views and morality on others in what is supposed to be a free society. The same free society that extends them the curtiousy too practice their religon without prejudice. Attempt to remove religon from government and these fools start crying, but they have no problem taking away the rights of others as long as it suit's their needs and supports their agenda.

Romans 1:18-24
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
Translation1:
For there is a revelation of the wrath of God from heaven against all the wrong doing and evil thoughts of men who keep down what is true by wrong doing; Because the knowledge of God may be seen in them, God having made it clear to them. For from the first making of the world, those things of God which the eye is unable to see, that is, his eternal power and existence, are fully made clear, he having given the knowledge of them through the things which he has made, so that men have no reason for wrong doing: Because, having the knowledge of God, they did not give glory to God as God, and did not give praise, but their minds were full of foolish things, and their hearts, being without sense, were made dark. Seeming to be wise, they were in fact foolish, And by them the glory of the eternal God was changed and made into the image of man who is not eternal, and of birds and beasts and things which go on the earth. For this reason God gave them up to the evil desires of their hearts, working shame in their bodies with one another:
