You also do not see the demons, this is evident.
Yes there are basic fundamentals all around us, I see them every time I open my eyes.
Your right the bible is not to be interpreted in any old way, at all.
Faith is not just something Christians can claim, and if people of other beliefs have it then it was not your god that gave it to them.
My real argument was always that those who claim their faith often do not really have any to start with, they spend their energy trying to convince not only others but themselves.
If you didn't get it the first time, studying it won't help you either.

Stop talking in riddles Moons,,,;)
There are many kinds of faith,,,Yours and mine are very different no doubt...
I have no desire to convince you of anything!!...You believe what you believe, and I will believe what I believe...It's that simple..You asked a question and I supplied you an answer..Nothing more; nothing less...:)

Which riddle has you confused?
It is not yours over mine, I wouldn't care to change anyones beliefs, that would be wrong.
I often hold back because of this.
You tried to answer that question, as best you could, and I did thank you for the link.
But answers must be more than opinion.
You would agree those like gouda are in another group all together.
They seek power over others.

Doubt, it is only human and is there for a reason.

by Ruger1 on 16 December 2011 - 07:12
I understand, I hold back too, but if someone asks a question I do enjoy talking about it..And yes, I do think that there are those who seek power over others....
I think where you and I disagree is that I believe that there are those whose study, and credentials make their ideas/concepts more then just opinions...No different then any other area of study..I trust my veterinarian with the neutering of my dog more then I would my dentist..Two different areas of expertise...
My faith is a gift from God, but I have a responsibility to build upon it with careful, diligent study and wise, knowledgeable counsel...

The Love of the GSD
And no not the one from Admin!!

No I have never been confused by any of this, and yes I can see you really enjoy talking about it.
I keep my own council for the most part, and trust few.
Be careful who you trust.
Your biggest responsibility is to live by the words you put your faith into above the fun you have talking about them.
I find that most do not in reality practice what they preach.
Now unless you want to talk about the validity of other beliefs besides your own we are done here you and I.
LOL,
Lennard.
Yes the love of dogs is a force to be reckoned with.
This goes hand in hand with the love of all creatures and the natural world we live in.
Human things are boring and always a let down.
Our dogs are pure of spirit and have no agenda, you can trust them to be exactly what they are.

Moons...
Well, I am glad that it is evident that I enjoy talking about it, it's who I am...:)
We can talk about other beliefs, I suggest starting a new thread so it doesn't get confusing..I don't have a lot to add to the discussion of other religions, but I would enjoy hearing what you have to say..

It was interesting hearing from Ibrahim, but the response he got from gouda I think put him off and I don't blame him one bit.
Some people see faith as a very personal topic that one does not discuss in public, some consider it rude or in bad taste.
Some have tolerance while others do not.
For me, what I choose to believe in must make sense, and have substance beyond the myth or mystical, with real cause and effect.
If one feels compelled to kill another over their differences then the belief is flawed, or if one feels threatened by another's beliefs their's is also flawed.
I always enjoyed reading about the Buddha and his teachings.
I find great comfort and resolve in meditation.
And I find the natural world to be pure of spirit and without flaws.
In the end, it is how you live your life and treat others, and this planet that gives us all life, regardless of our beliefs.
How we got here, and what happens after we are gone, is less important than what we do with the time we have and how we live our lives.
Life itself is the reward, not something promised afterwards when you die.
I find that concept selfish and self serving.
To expect everyone to be the same and follow only one path is not only unrealistic, but I believe harmful to the beauty of life.
This seems to be the way of some religions, one must be right and the other wrong.
I don't see it that way at all, and the threat of damnation should one disagree is the flaw that makes them all wrong.
So, no matter how one tries to debate beliefs it always boils down to that question, which is right and which is wrong.
They can all be right if they bring love and respect and dignity to all.
Sadly this isn't the way of it with some religions, and it is because of those who use them for their own purpose, instead of the good for all mankind.

Well, Moons we all can't be right and that is the reality of it like it or not...There are absolutes in this world whether we like them or not or believe them or not...
I think we have to agree to disagree and not destroy people over what we believe..
It's been nice chatting with you..:)
Deanna..:)
