mtndwg.....
my grandparents were the same way.....the adults ate first, the rest was left for the kids....very old school.... the oldest always made sure that there was enough left for us kids....once when times were lean, i watched my grandmother (who did all the preparations) take only a teaspoon of mashed potatos, a half a biscuit, about a half dozen peas..... just because surprise guests arrived at dinner time, once everyone had their serving she went back for what was left - which wasn't much.... this was a lifechanging experience for me.
things have changed, now we treat our kids like princes and princesses they get the best of what we have and seldomly apreciate any of it.

You might find that on WITF, but it seems that all the media is biased in one way or another. C-span might be OK, I don't know.

Boy, even my grumpy German Papa didn't eat before the kids. I've never heard of such a thing. I doubt Mitt eats first because there is limited food available.

Mitt doesn't even wait for everyone to sit down. He's finished before everyone even starts eating? That's not old school.

I don't think the news/media is controlled or bias. How can it be that all these independent news organization could end up unified on an a agenda, its to big, to widespread. That kinda of control would be mind boggling. I think we can put that conspiracy to rest.

I have never heard of that lack of respect for children an example of old school, but to each his/her own. Not only were my Grandparents old school but they were old country (German). Never did the parents eat before the children, my family believed that the children were the life blood of the family and there to carry on the family name and take care of the parents when the time came.
As for Romney feeding his face and not wanting to wait for the grandkids, OMG doesn't begin to say it. A fine example of what his presidency would be like..............

I guess Mitt wants to be sure he gets the best cut of meat.

I love Oklahoma State Senator Constance Johnson's amendment to the ridiculous personhood bill, which incidentally states life begins a fertilization not implantation in the uterus. Her amendment stated "However, any action in which a man ejaculates or otherwise deposits semen anywhere but in a woman's vagina shall be interpreted and construed as an action against an unborn child". I realize it was an attempt to illustrate how sexist the Personhood bill was, where women experience the brunt of the bill. So what about sex for anything other than procreation? Men using condoms? Oral sex? etc???? Just a thought.......
