I guess I am used to IE 11 so don't feel a huge urge to switch. I might try foxfire when I have the time. I am running IE 11, tried to install 8, but got the error message that my computer doesn't support it (something like that).

Yeah, don't downgrade. Just try FF you can always uninstall if you don't like it, at least give it a try until this glitch gets resolved.

Sorry, I'll say it again - I'm using Google Chrome.
And I have been getting similar problems that others have
described since this 'round' started a few weeks ago ...
and they have been worse this past week, which has coincided
with Google doing some new upgrade, which has changed my
desktop/first 'page' again slightly.
I also lost an email this week while writing one to send in reply;
half the text disappeared on me, like some posts and PMs here.
As that only happened once so far, not convinced the two are
connected, but thought I'd better mention it.
And I have been getting similar problems that others have
described since this 'round' started a few weeks ago ...
and they have been worse this past week, which has coincided
with Google doing some new upgrade, which has changed my

So why am I getting intermittently disappearing lines of just-typed text,
whole posts vanishing, cursor leaping wildly about or going back to the

How do I tell what version of IE I am running? (I know it's not IE 11.)
