McCarthyism is the practice of making accusations of disloyalty, subversion, or treason without proper regard for evidence. The term has its origins in the period in the United States known as the Second Red Scare, lasting roughly from 1950 to 1954 and characterized by heightened fears of communist influence on American institutions and espionage by Soviet agents. A demagogue (/ˈdɛməɡɒɡ/) or rabble-rouser is a political leader in a democracy who appeals to the emotions, prejudices, and ignorance of the poorer and less-educated classes in order to gain power. Demagogues usually oppose deliberation and advocate immediate, violent action to address a national crisis; they accuse moderate and thoughtful opponents of weakness. Demagogues have appeared in democracies since Athens. They exploit a fundamental weakness in democracy: because ultimate power is held by the people, nothing stops the people from giving that power to someone who appeals to the lowest common denominator of a large segment of the population.

Bah Obama has done more than enough to persuade me that he is a socialist, marxist, or communist.... You can choose as the referenced systems have failed and are antithema to what I hold dear. For starters the world apology tour, bailouts, unprecedented spending for shovel ready jobs that were not so ready, foreign campaign contributions, hump buddies with ayers the terrorist, black liberation theology associations, golfing, moochellea numerous vacations, obamacare, oh yeah and the fact that entrepreneurs owe it all to the government. That's a pretty good start I think

Why rush there mr ayers or Anderson cooper. Just read. Ok of you love the annoited one so much what has he done good for the country?? Is your llife better than say the Clinton era?? I have no real issues with democrats but this president is horrible, divisive, an his policies quite frankly blow

OK, FLRanger, I checked my facts.  Not only did Obama say that Bush was responsible for the bailout, the first 17.4 billion loan occurred in october 2008.  When was that election again?

I don't post a lot on this board because there are a lot of members that know far more than I about GSDs.  I doubt there are that many that know more about politics....  Bush moved to prop up the industry and protect their employees and their suppliers.  Obama gave GM to the unions.
