New OT forum rules. - Page 4

-- I honestly think because of a few, speech is chilled here. EXAMPLE: Look at the thread I posted in the All Breed section where a dog was hit by a car, beat, then buried alive .. only one poster and they didn't believe the story. How can dog lovers NOT comment on something so atrocious or research it  ? It's obviously chilled speech.

But then again, I believe too, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all. This alone shows the majority of members are peacefull regarding that view count of 500 with only one reply. And no doubt most the membership.

This OT forum is different, because a few people do resort to personal attacks, chop blockin, character assassinate etc ... allowing this anywhere ... is chilling the entire membership everywhere.

Why does everything have to be so back asswards. It's like the insane running the asylum .. and you wonder why the counts are down ? 

I like it over here, why people come over here and bitch is totally telling. I hope Oli keeps this OT section. I'm getting tired of being told where to go when I'm in the right spot. It's the same as everyone wanting to be in America, while here, don't know where their at and demand to change things. Edit: we see how that's working out 4 us.

Where are the supposed people who don't like this.

So far only Beetree was honest enough to say she didn't like it.

We were told you were basically flooded with complaints.

I would hope the mods would spit out whatever they are hinting about WHY the post count is down.

I would also like to point out that last week and this week are big big vacation weeks in the USA.

Even than I like the fact that you give a sober answer.
I don't read the dog stories that have to do with abuse or
misfortune because it sickens me for the rest of the day.
As people begin to go into difficult times, I fear that so
will the welfare of animals in general...I don't know if that
is why the post did not get many replies or views, but
your Pima county sheriffs got alot. Good for you for
standing your ground. You got alot of opposition.

I have been OT's number one supporter, but this is the 3rd time and I think at this point a rule needs to be implemented.  I opened it up because believe it or not I value the members opinions, whether I disagree or not in the end.



I see the numbers and yes this is summer, but in the middle of a heat wave I would expect those numbers to be steady and not the drop witnessed in OT. The same amount of people are here everyday, give or take some. The login and lurker numbers have not really changed and the number of posts only appear to be tanking in OT. Last I looked 290 lurkers.

You want to use the TOS, but allow politics and religion. The TOS will limit the attacks in OT and allow the mods to have some rules backing them, but it is never going to stop it all. Look in the GSD forum and some of the other dog forums, no matter the rules, because here is what will happen as I have dealt with it over and over.  Member xxx you can't say those things to member yyy, then the excuses start-you are bias, you are only picking on me, the other member started it, I have been in dogs for 50 years therefore I AM GREAT and know everything and the newbs are ruining the world, name it I have heard it. To top it off when I get after both parties I hear from both parties how I am being biased and I am any number of horrible things.

Then the threats start I am going to Oli, I am going to the forum, I am telling everyone who you are, I am leaving and not coming back, but the whole time your IP has never really left. It is truly a cluster dealing with all the personalities daily.

What I am getting to is, we can't possibly ban everyone who resorts to attacks or name calling, right Max.

Just now saw this thread.  I personally did not complain to any moderators.  Even though I may not like some threads because they are all basically about some sort of conspiracy theory, it's not my place to tell the moderators what to do.  But, thank you moderators for considering this matter.

so I can't give time for my usual thought provoking

However I think the assault on Christians and heavy handedness
of one particular website volunteer...If I can say that,
did lead to the down fall some what....

Very little gets deleted here. You are way off base.

Your posts did get deleted because you attacked DD for no reason, but you are the first to complain when someone attacks or questions your friends.

Please stop posting posts that you clearly do not know all the facts about. You complain that people are after members because of what they said or did, yet you are doing the exact same thing. Baiting members on this very thread. Complaining about bias, yet acting with bias when your friends get called out. STOP.

don't want to be....Accept people for who they are.
And focus more on rudeness. You should not have to

BabyEagle, yes I called your politically motivated/Ron Paul/Constitutional Rant, (take your pick, and I don't mean this in a mean way, just feel I know a little bit about you by now) SPAM because that is always the basis of your posting. It was like you ONLY wanted to post a song that fits your "agenda".  I wish you had tried more to fit with the laid back music theme, and really we could see another side of you.

It is the one dimensional aspect and sheer quantity of posts by any individual that make for what appears to me, as an "agenda."

I also think this rule would allow moderators to put a stop to demented, mentally ill posters, think Bartmess here, when it becomes apparent there is a chemical brain imbalance expressing itself on the internet.
