Great picture Ninja!  Now, we sit and wait for "the rest of the story."  Did any of you ever listen to Paul Harvey?  Here's a site with some of his stories:  http://www.archive.org/details/TheRestOfTheStory.

Interesting theory but you really couldn't be more wrong (sorry).  The hits on this message board are NOTHING compared to the hits on the classifieds and  and pedigrees on this site.  The reality is Oli keeps this message board going as a courtesy to the members, not because of the hits.

As far as reading the content for accuracy.......seriously????  I am a member of many boards, and there is not one board where the moderators are responsible for making sure that everything written is factual and/or acurate.  How would you propose we do this Slam?

Anyone that knows Oli knows that this site is not about increasing revenue to the max, and never has been. Oli has had a great love for the GSD for a very long time and built this site out of that appreciation of the breed many years ago as he rcognized the need for a good exchange of photos, pedigrees and progeny and all other sorts of breeding related information. Now anybody that knows Oli also knows he is an absolute software genius, not just good, but really, really great.  The amount of heart and soul and work it has taken to build this wonderful site is not generally appreciated.  Others have tried to mimic his work and it would take a lifetime fior them to ever match his results if that was even possible. Oli's years of hard work, dedication and genius have created an institution among many who own, train, show, breed and love the GSD.  It has never been about maximixing hits or money. To suggest such is an ignorant insult to Oli and all his work.

Unfortunately certain folks have always come in along the way and operated as controllers and bullies, manipulating topic lines and sometimes even threatening lives on and off the forum and making continual adhominem attacks, with content of their posts clearly "off topic".  Some have even cyber stalked others off site and made disgusting phoney websites to mock and demean them. So in a brilliant move Oli decided to set up an "off topic" section to isolate these non-GSD related posts away from the regular GSD related posts.  And  Oli has appointed moderators to maintain basic rules which they have done well.

Now some of these bullies and controllers still come here (and there are always some new ones emerging with authority and control hangups) that want to stop others from posting who veer from their comfort zone or who post information that offends them and is out of their normal perameters of knowledge, new information that may be true, but so offends them they cannot do their own research or even consider the possibilities. These folks whether they realize it or not are bullies and controllers and want to restrict information and control others and resent it when folks post on a topic line they have emotionally adopted as their own. So they engage in ad hominem attacks and insults, and accuse, demean and personally attack and even use veiled threats against the posters they don't like.  Folks, this isn't freedom, this is bullying, and it is immature and dysfunctional. And it is wrong and self-centered. Get a life and if you don't like someone or their posts, don't read 'em and skip to the next one. That shouldn't be too difficult to understand.  It's not healthy to try to control everything others think and say. And one more thing, if Oli wants me to stop posting or restrict my topics he can contact me via email or PM and I'll accomodate his requests. Cheers.

Oh brother. I said ARCHIVE the PAGES, at a certain point (for the purpose of tidiness), Geeze-Us.  I never thought there would be a snow balls chance in Hell that you would ever stop posting your life work of specious drivel. I don't read it, a complete waste of my life. One wasted life on that fiction should be plenty, is how I see it.

Interesting though, that you "handicap" yourself by not starting your own threads, which you admit is something you won't do. W.E.  I know it is your paranoia that is responsible, and at this stage in your life, probably not anything you have control over.

Ninja! I laughed so hard at that picture! OMG I have felt that way to be sure, trapped as the passenger with the driver from Hell. You must know Queechee Gorge, LOL

So, as I was saying, we were following this Beemer at a good clip when he exited the highway. Our exit was only one more to go. Now someone else might have decided to take it easy seeing as the "bait" car left us exposed. Not my DH, apparently because the next thing you know I am hearing the sirens and looking behind us, yep, there's the State Trooper flashing his lights to get us to pull over.

Now, I've got my feet on the dashboard and am waving my fingers to keep my newly applied nail polish from getting ruined. The trooper walks up to my DH's window, and says to him, "Can I see your license and registration, please?" As we are complying he asks if he is in the military because he wears what hair he has, in a buzz and I guess there is a base near by. "No officer, we are just coming up here for a wedding and are trying to make the rehearsal dinner." I'm not saying anything at this point.

The officer takes his ID's goes back to check on them, and then returns. He lean's forward and asks my DH, "Sir, do you have any idea how fast you were driving?"

DH responds, "Oh, no, sorry but I have no idea, I was just following behind this other car and was just thinking of getting to the dinner."

At which point I blurt out very matter of factly, as if I've been suddenly reincarnated with the spirit of Geo. Washington and say, "Oh yeah.... you were going at least 80 mph."

You could have heard a pin drop, both the Trooper and my DH were speechless! LOL

He then proceeded to only give my DH a warning for disobeying posted signs, I think.... because he felt he had a much much bigger problem on his hands... ME!

(I hope it was worth the wait, LOL)

And if folks shoot from the hip posting authoritatively about something they know litle about, they shouldn't be surprised or offended if alternative informed views based on actual research, publication and documents are presented.

LMAO

Well I'm glad most people enjoyed that picture, I thought it was very fitting for the suspense Bee left everyone in by not completing her story.

Yes Bee I've been to Queechee Gorge a long, long time ago.

PS I think the State Trooper let you go with just a warning because of your honesty. Most people argue with the Police, he was totaly surprised by your statement.

ggturner, I remember Paul Havey, Paul Havey News from Chicago. My freshman year in College, in public speaking we were given the assignment of listening to his radio show. They thought he was such a great orator.

It was a good day today, won over $200.00 in the lottery, shot the third lowest score in the golf league (39) and finally heard the last chapter to Bee's speeding episode. LOL

Slamdunc, the easy solution is do not read the particulat thread that turns you off.  It is that simple.  Instead of trying to be a control freak, just let it go and move on. There are many, many other theads to pick from and if you wish you can stick with the GSD threads.

See, here's the interesting thing, the minute I post something off topic from a new perspective that most know nothing about, certain control freaks immediate scrutinize all my prior posts looking for something to use to try and discredit me with.  Well the search ended up with two things.  First, I was maligned for coming up with a way to periodically clean the cones in my old dyson vaccuum without buying a new cannister. I was actually surprised folks were so worried about my vacuum.  But like I said everything is okay with it now and I also bought a backup vacuum (so these folks can stop worrying about my vacuuming).  I must admit that the new one uses bags which cost about $1 each so I use it only for edges and backup. Second, some folks said I know essentially nothing about temperament of the GSD and came to conclusions based on their own biased perspective. They know nothing of the GSDs I have owned or where they were from. They proposed this as a means to discredit me and any of my posts. Course none of these folks are top SV breeders internationally known and respected, or producers of top WUSV, or profung winners themselves.  Then folks attempted to fish for my background, education, training and experience and then tried to use that to discredit my posts.

See, these control freaks totally missed the point.  The items I posted are all self-explanatory and muist be evaluated on their own merits.  What I think personally is irrelevent.  The only reason this is so hard for these folks to process is probably because they must be some type of control freak and/or bully with an authority hangup and cannot stand having anyone posting ideas on Oli's forum that run counter to their thinking or beliefs.  But there is no evidence that anyone of these folks has done any basic research to be in a position to realistically evaluate these articles, documents and videos. Bottom line is that this Oli's forum not theirs, but yet thhese folks try to run it.

This control freak/bullying issue is nothing new on this forum.  It used to be a big problem on the whole forum and sometimes got completely out of hand, but has now shifted and been isolated essentially to the "off topic" forum and has some astute mods.  So now, when these control freaks can't get their way to stop my posts or limit them since they don't like the content, they act like cry babies and start smearing Oli by accusing him of grubbing for hits and income. Anyone who knows Oli knows that this couldn't be farther from the truth. This shows a complete lack of appreciation for all of Oli's hard work bulding this site for all of us to use who love the GSD breed.  So now Slam you say you may take your toys and go home (ie to your many other forums) rather than just skip my posts and read the ones you like. But hey, do what you want.  So far, Oli still allows free speech and choice on his excellent forum.  Remember, I was asked to come here (actually by several users) to provide balance to the cotnrol freaks and bullies who themselves seem out of control at times (what a paradox, no?).  So there you have it.  Cheers.
