I think (and this may just be me) that people don't use their real names and especially full names because you have the risk of running into a stalker. Trust me I have had one before on a different type of forum (not animal related). So I don't give my full name to anyone unless its in a PM. I also will only give out my real name to someone I have talked to for a long time now too, not someone that is just coming onto the forums. That is why I avoid the picture threads (the ones asking you to post a picture of yourself), because its just safe not to do on such a public forum. I admit there is one forum that required my full name, but I did that before my stalker made themselves known. I don't post on the forum anymore.
