Here's a challenge, how can you get the drug companies to go back to working on them if they can't make a fortune doing it?
They stopped the only viable research for lack of profit.
This is global and getting worst, resistant bacteria, or actually a gene that jumps from one to another.
Do you have any idea how much anti-biotics we use in the animals we use for our food supply?
It's FUBAR.
They called it a portfolio decision.

my ex-room mate worked for big pharma, they ditched their research program for new medicines and went into the lifestyle remedy market, medicine costs millions in basic research and only 1 in 100 make it to a clinical trial which costs more millions and years which then goes to more trials, testing...and then people may use the drug for a few weeks of use until they are cured - it is a financial loser. lifestyle remedies do not need to be proven to work they only need to be proven not harmful and you can have people on them with no real effect for years which means years of buying, the research costs almost nothing as there is not much in them. they can tailor make these non medicine for every non-ailment that you don't have. the corporate brief was to get every single person alive on at least one of these products for life. that company is doing better than ever.
medicinal research it hard and expensive, not much attraction to for profit companies.
big gov. science is dead so.....

What's the name of the show, like Nova or something? I'll probably stream it and watch the whole thing.
We've actually been very careful over the years to limit our kids' exposure to a lot of that crap. They've had organic soy for milk theif whole kives for instance, and even now, if we're not getting meat butchered from friends' farms, it's organic from the store. You'll never eliminate everything, but you can make a difference, IMO.

Like I said it always goes back to money.
The problem is these little buggers could kill us all, then who's gonna be buying anything.
