Maybe a bit of an extreme perspective, but the historical account is spot on, as is the underlying philosophical concept.

And of course don't miss the plea for funding in the foot notes from the producer of the information....lol

Of course humans evolved to fear death, because those who didn't died faster than they could reproduce.

Still,
some of those genes still exist in our species today, we call them insane.

It is an interesting point of view I'll grant you that, but a bit over simplified I think.

It's all very simple VK4.
That pesky evolution.

by vk4gsd on 22 October 2013 - 21:10

Here are some facts from a Harvard professor speaking at Cal University in 2005.

Typical US 1-income family 1970                    2005  2-income family  (all figures adjusted for inflation)

Wage                                                                                  $32,000                                                  $63,000
Percentage of income saved                                                +11%                                                 -1%
Clothing                                                                                                                                              -32%
Food                                                                                                                                                   -18%
Appliances                                                                                                                                         -52%
Per vehicle avg                                                                                                                                  -24%

so where is it all going?

Mortgage      (size of avg house only increased 0.3 rooms)                                                            +76%                                  In 1970, half of the income went to fixed expenses.  By 2005, the figure was 75%.
Health Insurance                                                                                                                                   +74%
2nd vehicle for 2nd wage earner                                                                                             adds   +52%
Child care                                                                                                                                               +100%
Taxes                                                                                                                                                       +25%

VK4,
I do not buy into the big bang, no I mean the passing from one generation to the next, who survives to reproduce and who falls without passing on those genetics to the next generation.
Now I have to watch carlins video.....sshhhhhhhh.
