Two Moons

I wonder if Obama could be brought up on charges of war crimes down the road.

Oh its OK I just heard - those well known democratic humanists
the Saudis are helping, so that makes it all fine (& 'legal') ?

War crimes? Let 'em try.

This cracks me up. It is war. And people want rules. That is so unAmerican to follow another countries rules when it comes to war. We never would have won our own Revolutionary war with that attitude. I mean, really.

What your missing is does this memo give them the right to kill anyone without evidence, at the discretion of the executive branch, and worst can this apply to citizens in this country.
As usual you don't have one damned clue what the hell it is your talking about.

by beetree on 07 February 2013 - 01:02

Moons, I watched it, I do too, know what I'm talking about... you just don't like it! See, go back to the THREE part criteria.....that is the reasoning for the justification when one is acting as the CCO of the USA.

It all goes back to you doubting if a US citizen renounces their government and commits acts of terrorism with an entity we are at war, what are their rights! I can't say a particular terrorist country because the modern war scenario harbors that type of thug who exists with no boundaries. This pesky war business, makes it hard when people cross boarders, air space, change sides... geeze and then we have to go make sure all the boxes are checked in case of what... a capture is NOT possible.

Oh dear....

Who is it we're at war with again?

Tell it to the family of the sixteen year old boy.

Your missing the part where this precedent might allow for the killing of a citizen on U.S. soil without any due process.

At the discretion of the executive branch with no congressional oversight.

Call you a terrorist on Monday and kill you on Tuesday.
And perhaps anyone standing within a fifty foot radius.

Who are you at war with Moons? Who is the biggest enemy the world faces, according to you?

by joanro on 07 February 2013 - 14:02

I heard about a little girl, five, maybe, put on terrorist watch list (or what ever the labels are) for suggesting to another little girl that they blow bubbles with her bubble gun after school. Suppose the mighty gov machine goes sends the drone on the mission to eliminate all these potential, maybe imminent, maybe not, on this list.

by beetree on 07 February 2013 - 17:02

Clear and present danger, hardly! That was funny Joanro....Clever

Moons, you are here to cry foul! and stop any distortion of the true intention of the POTUS, should he be derelict in his duties. I think you'll do a great job if it comes to that.

I have to check and see if Presidents can be sued... maybe not while in office... but maybe after if you think he needs a smack of justice for any perceived crimes.

That doesn't stop one, and really it shouldn't stop one from moving forward with an action that is really, new ground, so much so, they researched among their peers. These peers also deemed the study of new principles in a modern war, with an outline that shows a thoughtful approach intended to work in the best interest of the people who voted him into office.

It can be disputed and challenged, and I am sure it will, but people need to start somewhere with a novel dilemma, don't you think?

See, you want to react on what can happen. I think we should deal with what has happened, and is happening. First.

Just for fun....do you think this turncoat American who thinks it is okay to murder fellow Americans for an extremist ideology that basically turns decent human beings into thugs, thugs that are hiding behind everything and anything, with murder on their minds, well.... how long do you want to wait to bring this guy in? What is the proper thing to do? You got that all worked out?

by joanro on 07 February 2013 - 18:02

Bee, the parents of that little girl are not laughing. The kid was kicked out of her school, and when the parents tried to get her into a different one, they found out she's on the "list" and refused admission. What's so "funny" about that, Bee? Personally, I find it disturbing, where this country is taking this shit.
