In my humble opinion America will be facing an imminent economic collapse, to in part to the wild spending spree of Hussein Obummer. Do as you wish, but I choose to prepare.... ((putting tin foil hat back on))

Are you a "prepper", FLRanger?  You ever watch that TV show? I love how this enormous sized woman spends all her time packaging "gourmet" survival foods. One must have priorities! And night drills in the dark, damn, the things I should be worrying about but haven't, is starting to worry me!

beetree, I bought 1 ton of baled sheeps wool at farm action back in 2009 already. What are you waiting for ? LMAO

by beetree on 13 July 2012 - 19:07

babyeagle, I'm thinking I am going to start extreme couponing for high value trade-in items instead, like toothpaste, shampoo, tampons and toilet paper. Good thing DH knows how to weld. That's supposed to be a good skill to have. If I get those solar panels for the pool installed before the SH*t hits the fan, we might be able to finagle some kind of power situation.

I don't know. I only watched the one show. What are you doing with all that wool? I can't wear wool unless it is very cold, it makes me itch.

I haven't done anything with it yet except give a few bales to the senior center and put some in the rabbit hutch over the winter. I did notice birds love it .. they steal from the rabbits so I have a bale hanging to a tree for the birds. LOL

Bee and eagle, you guy CRACK ME UP ! One show only,eh bee. Well you better get with the program and catch up. At least the birds and bunnies are prepped. Myself.... I've got lots and lots of goats to eat and they can browse. Dogs get what we humans don't eat and I can tan the hides to make clothes. Plus tons of bullets for when the goats run out ( they shouldn't though cause there're some very young ones in the herd.) garden is doing great with veggies getting ripe. When is this shit supposed to hit the fan, anyway. LOL

Hey you guys I saw that show too where the large woman was making all those meals and stuff. One other one I saw was where the girl would take off at night, sort of like a black dressed ninja and go through all kinds of places timing herself getting out of the city. I forgot but I think it was LA. Do you know that one Joanro? Then I started watching another one and it was just too ridiculous --for me anyway. I didn't see the sheep whool one either but I guess it could be a good thing to have. At least the birds think so.
I do know this according to what I saw you guys had better have plenty of ammunition so you can protect your assets as there are going to be people like me who made no plans, roaming the earth looking for people's stashes to rob...................And with those goats and that garden I think you are really vulnerable. Oh and what about the guy in LA who was showing how to use trash to his advantage--maybe by the time this is over they will have taken an inspiration from him and walked around and cleaned the city up. LOL........

Birds and bunnies? What have you done with them!  If I have to, I can eat bunnies. My cat does already, so, like him, I'm pretty sure if I got hungry enough, I could eat rabbit. Matter of fact, I think I did have rabbit cooked by a real nice Sicilian lady on Christmas Eve, once or maybe, twice.

babyeagle, I hope you have a spinning wheel? I mean if I bought a ton of wool, I would need a spinning wheel to go with it. Or two, I think spinning should be done in company, why be miserable during all this "end of the world as we know it?".  Joanro, by the earliest accounts I think we have the Mayans to blame and they pegged it this coming Dec. 2012.

So, it is really weird, because.
  • if you don't have a dime or possessions, why would you care? Today and tomorrow are the same in your eyes.
  • If you have stored the correct valuable possessions and yet have no dimes, tomorrow you are the rich man.
  • If you have money but no useful possessions, you are relying on your wits.
  • The big gun can take it all.
