That is very nice.
Since you are participating on the sport forum please share what you have done to improve your scores in tracking, OB and protection? Why the low scores in the protection phase, shallow grips, lack of control, or slow outs?

First trial, was very nervous, dog not ready,I was not ready.
Thats the only answer I can give you,the truth. I found the obedience focus very difficult,I just wasnt fast enough and very clumsy with the balls. Im a lot better now,and hopefully achieve higher scores with this pup in the future. My pup at six months is a better tracker now then my male was 2.
Have a nice day

Huh?

In other word as a beginner I was not able to train my dog the way a seasond train er would. I had to learn ,my dog had to learn. Is that explination satisfactory.
The dog moved at the pace that I set in the trial, I moved slow in the heel, the dog heeled slow to keep in position. My turns were slow,so my dog was also slow to stay in position. You can say what you want Slamdunc, but I passed the first trial my dog and I entered. Many seasoned people fail their first time . By the way Slamdunk He is the sire of the poilce k9 dogs, and the search and rescue dog.
Learnig t o ke e p a dog in position w ih ball is very hard for me. gouda

I see a couple of things: Gouda; 2nd pg you state something to the effect of "only after they have given us proof they have ever bred a real working dog"......... I'm going to take that as a typo??? That could open up a whole can of worms? In my eyes unless you know the person or have a GOOD idea of the individual there's plenty of room for mistakes in either typing or reading the comments from posters. Saying that I honestly would think there would be FEWER "Working" dog individuals. We are talking of professionals, in their daily, some lifelong, jobs or duties handling their dogs. Someone who went to a school, kennel, agency/Department either paid for or paid out of their own pocket to school, train for what ever their specialty or scope of work is.
The hardest thing I see here, at least on this PDB, is some individuals with little or no "street experience" BELIEVE they know or can speak of the street experiences or the dogs doing that duty. And every "WORKING' dog is just not a PSD K9. There are so many different jobs. Now I for one, wouldn't sit and talk or even argue over say, Field Trials, SL GSDs or scores because I have very little if any experience in those things. But MWDs; military and civilian, PSDs, EDDs, S&Rs, and "working" dogs I can comment on.
My point is.......... If I asked on the PDB: "I need examples or ideas of constructing a Herstik Wall" because I'm getting ready to build one or if I asked "I need ideas, methods or exercises to increase K9 Search Endurance" I know that only a small handful, (if that) of individuals would be able to comment.
In my eyes it is MIND BOGGLING and TRULY AMAZING what dogs can do. Especially the true working dog! To see a dog fight a perp on the street , to man track, to find the drugs/explosives/contraband. To do the job it is trained to do! Just saying or picturing a dog doing the job IS NOT the same as working the dog, handling the dog and training with the dog. And most of all...... winning, doing the job of/with the dog!
The reason there are smaller numbers is not everyone can or is made to handle a "working" K9. And I'm not being mean but that is the truth.
