are you stoned?  dam straight we do and we can,

turn on yr radio, television, gps.....is there not a detector at the receiving end!!!!!! is it not receiving something at the speed of light!!!!!!!!

have you ever got a speeding ticket, how do you think your speed was measured??

this knowledge was old in the 18'th century and we have just been finding new applications for it to this day. measurement of the very fast is easy, including the measured and measurable expansion of the universe.

you can measure the speed of light just using a standard microwave oven.

this message has just got across from my keyboard to yr's across the planet routed millions of paths all at the speed of light.

what are you talking about?

by Ibrahim on 20 August 2013 - 03:08

So,he says our next death is not the first, we were all dead and God returned us to life, again we will all die and then be returned to life, I think this time it will be eternal life. What you think?
Are there any theories like this in the west? Any philosophers talked about this?

Oh my God, we can detect the light, but we can not detect the movement of light.

Listen, light covers the earth 7.5 times in a second,do we have a device to detect this incredible movement ??????

by Ibrahim on 20 August 2013 - 03:08

Sun is the source of light
Say we have 10 points between us on earth and the sun
When sun releases beams of light we only see the light when it reaches us, why because light travels too fast.
We do not see the sun emitting the light
We can not detect and watch the movement of light between sun, point 1, point 2 etc and detect when the light will reach us
It happens so fast for us to detect it (before it happens)

Do you see the point?

Maybe vk is getting a little confused between the ability to
measure 'speeds', [or 'speeding'!], and the not-yet-found way to
detect the movement involved in the "speed of LIGHT"  ?

"You can measure the speed of light just using a standard
microwave oven."    HHhhmmmm ... how, exactly ?

Ibrahim that is a very interesting question about Western
philosophers, one to which I too would like an answer.

Don't know of any myself, off hand, who take this tack;  I
suppose in some ways Jung may come close ?

I wonder why we [in Europe] have just 'latched on' to the
faiths of other groups ?  We adopted the Christian teachings;
some are Jews;  some are Moslems.  Apart from a few who
are interested in the remnants of Paganism and Wicca, no
'home-grown' prophets arose.  Why so ?

by Ibrahim on 20 August 2013 - 04:08

I am not sure what you're assuming is a fact, it might be and might not. Jewism, Christianity and Islam were the last and most recent religions that we are very aware of, but God says, at least in Quran, HE sent many prophets to people before that, so MAYBE some of those prophets were indeed sent to you but we have no collection, now, of them. Isn't that a possibility?
I know many philosophers came early from Europe, philosophy isn't out of vaccum.

by Ibrahim on 20 August 2013 - 04:08

By the way, do you have in your school education system a Christianity curriculum, like history, maths, physics, English language etc?

Well if there were any prophets at earlier points in history,
they certainly didn't convince enough ppl around them for
their message (s) to last down the ages ?  Did not have the
appropriate 'staying power' perhaps.  Or maybe they were
burnt as 'heretics' ;   there was quite a lot of that sort of dealing
with anyone who wasn't preaching the 'official' religious version.

Re:  schooling:
Not sure if you were asking me, or vk in Oz,  but we have had a
funny mixture in the UK  (and Wales and Scotland have had their
own differences within that, for years) but basically we did have
classes usually called "Religious Education".  There were 'always'
both denominational schools (Church of England,  Roman Catholic)
and non-alligned State Schools, post the Education Acts of the late
19th / early 20th Century;  but you couldn't call the State schools,
such as I attended, 'non Religious' exactly, because they all used to
have daily Assembly including Prayers, and teach RE as a compulsary
subject.  Things have changed a lot in the last couple of decades.  Types
of school have altered, the basic national curriculum has changed,  there
is now much less emphasis on religion in (at least some types of)  state
schools ...  but much more if you look at the larger number of faith schools,
Moslem and others, that exist these days.  Not having kids, I can't give you
more detail than that, I'm not 'in touch' !  But I do understand that many schools
no longer have any Assemblies or Prayers, 'cos I think they no longer have to
in Law.  I think if you want to do some sort of RE or Religious Instruction or
Theology these days,  most youngsters need to 'opt in' to those classes and
tend to be older ?  Don't quote me on that bit, it is just the impression I've
gained ...

Oh, and where it is taught, there is more emphasis on 'comparitive religion'
and inclusion of 'other faiths' than just Anglican Christianity, these days.
