If the US Government can ban a fully automatic weapon, then they can ban any weapon.
If falsely yelling "fire" in a crowded movie theater can be banned without violating the Constitution then certainly banning assault rifles won't violate the Constitution.

I think law abiding individuals should be able to own any weapon that the police or the military(i.e., the government) uses. Problem is, assault rifles really won't matter much once drones are used domestically.
