The 2nd Amendment has to be the worst written Amendment. Had the people that wrote the Amendment could have foreseen the fire power of today's weapons. they would have written it differently. The 2nd Amendment was written in response to what happened in the months leading up to the Revolutionary War. The "Shot hear round the world" occurred when the Red Coats were marching to Concord to seize the cache of weapons held by the Militia.
The 2nd Amendment has to be taken in context of the 3rd Amendment - which prohibits the quartering of soldiers in private homes without the consent of the private home owner. This is exactly what the Red Coats were doing prior to and during the revolution.
The 4th Amendment concerns illegal search and seizure - and was written in response to what the Brits were doing prior to and during the revolution.
You want you assault rifle - fine. Fight for it - but don't wrap yourself in the Constitution, or the need to protect yourself, or as freedom. You want just it. Just like the people who own Pit Bulls fight against breed specific laws, or people who fight against Obamacare, or fight against banning 32 oz soft drinks.
If I felt the need for home protection, I'd get a Malinois. They can see better than I can in the dark, and can be called off if I made a mistake.
You want your guns - we get it. But it's not about the 2nd Amendment. And if it was, then you can always prove your point in front of the supreme court.
Owning of Assault Rifles isn't about the 2nd Amendment. It's about selfishness.

Simple - everyone is entitled to own a weapon that was available at the time the Constitution was written.
There is no such wording.
Had the people that wrote the Amendment could have foreseen the fire power of today's weapons. they would have written it differently.
They knew very well the advancements in weaponry and everything else.
Owning of Assault Rifles isn't about the 2nd Amendment. It's about selfishness.
Selfishness?
Where do you come from?
