Poseidon,
I sometimes spend hours clicking on tunes in Youtube tasting new music until Youtube begins to try to profile me.
At that point they get confused and offer things not related to what I'm looking at from old history files they have kept on me.

Strange but true.
It's the Google connection.

I haven't heard Arctic Monkeys before, with this type of music it's hard to find something I truely enjoy so I listen to the stuff my youngest son enjoys and go from there.
There is so much music out there.

Everyone has their own taste in music, mine tends to be older rock and roll, older pop songs from the day, and jazz.
I do have favorites in every style though with the exception of modern country western, I find few songs I like of that type.

What (types) of music is your favorite ?

Music is my main escapism.  My dad was into his classical, my mom more contemporary.  My sis into her musical!  My brothers followed dad.  Well I broke the mould and was into rock & roll influenced by my cousins who were in a band; stuff like Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Scorpions, Led Zep, prog rock stuff like ELP, Rush, King Crimson and my favourite Pink Floyd.  My dad used to check his styllus after I'd played my borrowed sometime badly scratched vinyl.

I still enjoy the old stuff although I have to admit that I have to be really hammered to turn the volume up to some of them indoors unless I'm on the road lol.  No problems however with classical as they are timeless.

Like you say, there is so much out there and it is still exciting to find something new I can still enjoy.  I like to believe the new stuff keeps me youthful :)

Would you consider this as modern country western.  Saw her performed in London.  Really love her.

I enjoy them also.
This to me is folk music, leaning towards a touch of blue grass.
The beauty of this is the natural sound and honesty.
I guess when I say modern country it's almost the new pop.
Different from the older country styles.

This is more modern and maybe the pop I speak of except this one I like.

I am not a real fan for cover versions but there are a few exceptions I like.
Here's Jeff Buckley cover version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah
