Of course Joan is right on fasci - Italian word. Fasci Italiani di Combattimento. Gave name to Fascism.
Which gave Fascism name. It is , as Joan said based on theory where if all are united as one they will be stronger. There is even legend of king who called his sons to bring 2 rods. When they have he told them to brake one of them over a knee. They have done so. Then he told them to bound the others rods together and try to brake them . The could not brake such bundle. that led to conclusion that unity is hard to brake. King told his sons to keep together.
Of course this symbol's history goes as farther back as to Etruscans and is on a dome andcontinuing up today where such sybol is n congerss
So symbols them selves are not at fault but Italian fascists are and that they used the symbol is irrelevant except that they used it and it help to define fascist philosophy. Same can be said about swastika.
It is quite surprising that Carlo is quite uneducated in this matter - especially because he is of Italian origin and this is should be a common knowledge..

Hans:Well what is in your mind is a private matter. History says otherwise.
Susie:"As a general rule ( there are exceptions ) one might say capitalism wants to open the borders for a "global" market, whereas communism wants to close the borders, only willing to deal with communist States."
Hans: Comintern Communism wants to close borders to capitalism same way as capitalism wants to close borders to communism. Have you ever heard of Iron curtain.
Of course in present some socialist countries want to cooperate with Capitalism . Like China. Such strategy is ideologically aimed at destruction of economy in capitalism and thus take over it. Of course US and western consumer only sees cheep goods. Foolish.
Communism Comintern has same globalization intentions as IMF except it has it on the communist terms. To say that philosophically one is different from the other is silly.

Noitsyou. :"Besides, there are really no communists left for them to even have any degree of relevancy. "
Hans: Another ignorant statement. Think of China. I would say communist China has quite a high "degree of relevancy".

Singular : fascio
Plural : fasci
Latin
Singular : fasces
Plural : fascis
It´s still different...
Joanro, our country opened the border because of helpfulness, not because of redistribution or capitalism. Right now there are no major problems, a lot less than feared. Personally I am proud that my country was, and still is, able and willing to help instead of closing the eyes to reality.
What gets me and most of my landsmen angry, is the amount of "refugees" not being refugees at all, but shady fortune hunters. It was naive to believe only the "helpless" would come - we are working on it, trying to find a humane way to weed out the a......s.
I think it´s perverse, that our highly developed Nations sell all kinds of weapons to 3. world countries, make war against them, and now try to help the victims.
No war = no victims

Susie, 'open borders' implies not being restrictive of who comes in. It is not necessary to 'open borders' in order to help refugees.
Open borders is a major problem for ALL countries...no borders = no country.
If you don't see 'major problems' right now, eventually you will. No country can stand the current flow of population redistribution without being crushed from the demands made on the society.
The open borders are not needed to help refugees.
Respectfully, I would like you to answer, 'how has open borders worked for capitalist Germany' ?

I am not able to close my eyes, nor is my government.
I am proud that the decision of my country forced the other European countries to either help, too, or at least to think and talk about the problem.
The border isn´t "open" any more, no more entrance for everybody for months now, help and registration is much better organized, the fortune hunters are weeded out as good as possible.
Believe me, we are fine, we are not personally affected, daily life didn´t change, no wild hordes do overrun my country...
There are other countries that have to deal with a lot more refugees for years now, but International Media doesn´t care, because these countries are not "important" enough for EU or USA
Turkey - 2,5 Millionen
Pakistan - 1,6 Millionen
Libanon - 1,1 Millionen
Iran - 979.400
Äthiopien - 736.100
Jordanien - 664.100
Nobody asks how these countries are doing...

Then you say how there are communists in China in one post then in another state how even China is opening up to capitalism. And why bring up what countries which no longer exist did to make a point about communism IN THE WEST today? That's the point: what is going on the West. In the West the various communist parties are DOA. Joanro believes that communists are behind globalization which isn't true. It just isn't that strong a movement to have that sort of influence. The article she posted even said that it isn't communism. Of course she avoids addressing that.

But to answer your question, yes, I know for a fact that the Amazon review you posted was inaccurate.
