Scary neighbors - Page 2

The most logical solution is get your parents the heck out of that place....

Joanro, Unfortunately my parents have a reverse mortgage (done years ago when home values were still high and before all the scammers came onboard) so they can't leave.  Plus they have lived in that neighborhood for 25+ years.  This neighbor is a mean drunk which makes him all that much more concerning since he is unpredictable.  He drove by my mom who was walking the dogs and he never blinked an eye at her.  My guess is he gets artifical courage from a bottle.  I have been on my mom to keep a journal of all he does.  I have talked with local PD and they can't do anything until he makes an arrestable move (I understand but still).  I have his name, and tag number so I will do some digging to see if he has anything in his background indicating he instability.  We will see........

Beetree, that sucks!!!!!  I had someone peal my "Run Fast Bite Hard" and IAFF (Firefighter Union) stickers off my SUV.  I can replace my IAFF sticker but have not been able to locate the other sticker.......

Fawndallas, DA can't do anything (cousin is in the DA's office) because the neighbor has not done anything prosecutable yet.  Frustrating.

YR, it is scary for my parents and they are living in a community of 65 and older with a few new parents sprinkled in who have toddlers or infants.  This guy seems to have latched onto my mom because she stood up to him I believe.  He is not apparently used to that.  My mom can be a force of nature (I had a Marine friend compare her to a DI he knew back in his basic training days).  Hopefully nothing happens and he finds a new hobby.....  Big bad former military picking on an 80 year old woman, sheesh......

MH, get big, buff, bad ass xmarine to accompany your mom for a few trips with the dog. And set it up another time where the jerk can attempt to harras your mother, while the body guard is watching out of sight.....then have him show up in the jerks face. The last thing cowards such as he wants, is to be confronted by a man while they are doing their ego boosting bs. I'll bet you can find a man who will be willing to help in this, since the cops are useless until its too late.

Another idea just occurred to me. Up here when things like you describe are going on and the cops are of no help, the local TV news will get involved. They will have a crew goto the location and do a story........not the kind of thing cowards can deal with, being revealed is not in their game plan.
