An anthropologist friend of mine pointed out women are actually stronger in all areas (except physical strength) then men and better able to survive. He gave an interesting and long lecture on the topic....
There are a lot of theories which have some merit, and I would hate for the point to be misconstrued as a chauvanistic one. For me, the salient point is that regardless of how the differences are qualified and/or quantified, for better or worse they have been here for a whole lot longer than the drastic changes in social influences we've experienced in a recent 200 years' time. I'd be happy to share my experiences with you as to what is emergent in the realm of psychology as it relates to the topic.
