i did not see a refutation but i did see a denial, to see what makes one argument more valid than another i think a christian would lean on scripture, but as you said "Many Christians are unaware of what the Bible actually says", i find that peculiar, i mean if i was to call myself an electrician i would have at least read the code first??

"If you were  a great example of a Christian, your post would carry a lot more weight.."

like gouda?, shatl?, yourself?.....

however, you are just a,,,,, manure spreader.

is this an example of a great christian???

BTW if you knew anything about real life you would know manure is a rich nutrient that makes the garden flourish.....

"Your hate isn't going to ruin this season for me."

how is quoting the viewpoint of a devout and well studied christian organization hateful???????

by all means enjoy yr Christmas, whatever that means for you as an individual, i will do likewise, thanks for asking.

Celebrate your feast the way you wish.  If as a Christian you chose to ascribe some theological meaning to the holiday, that's your business.  Just don't try to establish a monopoly on the thing, claiming it was yours from the beginning, because the idea that Christmas is part of scripture is simply nonsense.  In fact, there is more evidence there to the contrary, truth be told.  Do in your home as you wish, but if you're going to make such an ambitious claim, you had better know what the heck you're talking about.

I was raised to believe that Christmas is about family, loved ones, and sharing, whether it is material or spiritual.  My family and I have friends who are Jewish, Buddhist, Wiccan, Muslim, etc and we all get together to celebrate the spirit I was raised to believe Christmas represented.  I have clients who have little or no money and although some are caught up in the demands of the commercial side of Christmas, other become very creative in sharing gifts such as, baking, cooking, making items, or giving gifts of their time like a card with an evening of free babysitting, dog sitting, or some type of help.  That to me is the spirit of Christmas, enjoying family and friends.
