Good Ruger,
That was my intention. I'm glad you appreciate humor.

When I first came here, I just lurked before I joined. I had just purchased my first GSD in over 20 years and I was looking for info on his pedigree. He died two months shy of his 2nd birthday and that's when I came here and poured my heart out, in grief. I got another GSD and stayed around, became interested in training, started up a bit, then my life changed drastically, as most of you know. The training went out the window and my big boy became a big pet, LOL.
Now, I'm not so interested in the training, the pedigrees, etc., because I'm still piecing my life together and I have a long priority list. More dogs, dog training, etc. are now so far from the top of that list, I haven't even glimpsed them in a few years :) But I've found some true friends here, ones I've actually met and though we can get a bit cantankerous at times, I still feel at home here. This was the first forum I joined and actually participated in, so I guess I lost my internet virginity here, ROFL.
I work full time, I tend to my parents, I don't see nearly enough of my grandchildren, I just added a salt water fish tank and I'm trying to put my house in some kind of order. Now that I got my roof fixed, I can tear out the front wall in the living room and see what kind of water damage I have. Once that's settled, I'll have to either dry-wall (it's plaster) that wall or do something different, I'm not sure yet. Then it's on to the bathroom, which needs to be gutted. The re-do will really be something different, I'm applying my creativity. I'll take before, during and after pics as I go and of course, I'll share them here. I just got my glass cutter so I'm ready to do some mosaics! When that's done, or at least in progress, I'll be repairing my bedroom ceiling and repainting and that will be the only room in the house that will be complete. No, I'm wrong, the small bedroom is complete, I made it my walk-in closet. As a matter of fact, that was the first thing I did, because I already had all the shelving units, so it was a no-brainer. I have a walk-in closet that has a closet :) Then it will be baseboard in the living and dining rooms and at some point, fix my electric problems. I don't have a light in my bathroom, I got an oil lamp, LOL. I have two plugs in the kitchen that don't work and no light outside my back door. I don't do electric, other than fixtures, outlets and switches. Wiring is not my forte. I also have to do wooden baseboards in the kitchen, I tore all of that damned cove base off, just to keep me motivated.
So, that's pretty much what I do, I work at work and I work on my house, with my dog at my side. I have friends that I socialize with, but not as much as I'd like. I'm getting too damned old and I'm tired when I get home from work, so that's pretty much limited to week ends. When I have down time, I sit at the computer, I do some writing, I download photos I've taken and I come here. I belong to a photography group and we have weekly photo contests on-line. We get together sometimes for special events around town, but mostly it's on-line. I also frequent youtube, but I don't post videos. I don't think I could find the time for that and I'm also not liking the changes there, so I don't even comment anymore.
In the computer world, this is like home to me and many here, like family, in a weird kind of way. I think that has something to do with the heart of a GSD, there's no rival IMHO.
And when my house is finished, I'm going to have a party and invite you all!
I don't know where I'd put you all, but if there's floor space, there's a welcome mat!
Nice thread Ruger!

Ruger1,
i can't throw a rock around here without hitting someone's relative, can't speak a word without it going around the grape vine three times over, changing each time by the way.
I can't say what I say here to people I see everyday and expect to be a part of the community, the Nine here are in the majority.
We enjoy the detachment that speaking to strangers offers, even though some of us are not really strangers at all.
It's relaxing to not have to worry about what you say or whom you say it to.
I don't have to stand behind you making small talk in the check-out line.....LOL
Here people come back, in real life they just walk away........
Moons.

Others don't understand why I have a big liking to the GSD leading to PDB.

I don't socialize like I used to, I can't if I want to pass school. Originally, I would spend half my time on the computer on anime and other forums. One day I was curious on what a dog forum would be like and joined my first one a year or before I graduated high school. I've been hooked since! Now, it is just because I enjoy the insights of others when it relates to dogs and other topics, I still spend my other time working or at school. I also read the latest news articles and fanfiction as well. So it varies greatly. My family isn't as into dogs as I am.
Overtime, I have become rather tamed in regards to the way I speak on internet forums (I guess in time comes wisdom? or maturity), I stay out of the drama as much as I can, but I used to be in the thick of things, but this was on the anime forums where you could really cut loose and no one would care.
