Carlin

Freedom in any sphere has never been "free"; it always costs something.  The question then becomes what it's worth, and to whom.  The ultimate freedom may be seen as the free will of the individual, as granted by God/natural rights of man, which costs us all something every day if you read the news.  It seems to me that there is always a correlation between manipulating consequences and the corresponding costs associated with that endeavor.  The truth of the matter is that such a paradigm doesn't exist either in nature or in Christianity.  The reason we function is the US the way we do, is partially due to the recognition that achieving utopia is a sham, and partially because it's an extremely slippery slope.  The notion nowadays is an arrogant one, one in which we believe ourselves so far superior and equal to the task than we have been at any time in history.  The experiments fail, because the titanium gate still utilizes a copper hinge-pin, the nature of which we cannot change now, or ever.  Given that, and our track record, this individual finds the consequences of what's left of freedom more acceptable than the consequences of the machinations of ambition corrupted.

Bee,
The topic was for all purposes dead I would say after two weeks, you'd have me start another after the spamming we've seen.
And perhaps this is how you get things done, I posted a news article nothing more.

As for everyone, (everyone) are not public servants, we don't pay everyone, don't have expectations of everyone, everyone doesn't not have power over us on a daily basis, we entrust these professionals with our lives, not everyone.
I'd say it is an administration problem, substandard individuals selected, poorly trained and not usually paid very well, not so much the individual but the system itself.
The old man was 107 you think about that.
And then there is Bloomberg.

Now here's more,
http://www.courierpress.com/news/2013/sep/16/nc-officer-charged-shooting-unarmed-man/

I didn't have to search this out, the horse is anything but dead.
Your right though, everyone is not competent that's obvious.

I have personal friends in the profession, so good at it some not, if one of them fucks up I'll post his story too.

An ongoing event Bee, yeah I saw that too this morning.
We'll see how it unfolds, and of course, President Obama is on top of it so we're in good hands.

No problem Moons. Just keep it fair, is all I ask. I really doubt you trust those "paid public servants" Moons, but it sounds good when you say it. You seem to think they aren't prone to human mistakes? That is a mighty high bar you set for everyone else.

Yeah and age doesn't give anyone a pass to threaten lives, Moons. Think about that. I think Gramps wanted to die, quick instead of slow, think about that.

At 107 you'd think the excitement would kill him........:)

Yes bee I think the bar should be set high, seems that's not the case with some departments, again an administration problem.
Back to Bloomberg once more.

If I see Eric Holder crawl out from underneath some rock tomorrow, I just might need an air sickness bag to capture the excitement.

I'm hoping they get all the details nailed down on the D.C. story by tonight before the evening news.
I wasn't gonna mention it, but wait see who did.
