In this video ( not a nice one for the coyote)  there looks to be a huge difference in size.  Not sure where it was video'd.

Just a few miles from me I saw two coyotes dead with their heads stuck through the fence,  Yes, I took pics, not because I'm morbid, but because I'd never seen coyotes so close up, and was fascinated.  I'm sorry I had to see them this way.
I'll see if I can download them and I'll post them.

Ours are much bigger, close to the size of my dog, I remember thinking.

I have a family of crows here raising young fledglings in my front yard, intelligent amazing animals.
Just watched them chase off a squirrel.
The sized difference, most of our coyotes are under fifty pounds here, my wolf hybrid which was mostly arctic went over two hundred pounds.
Wolves kill coyotes, coyotes kill foxes, they compete.
A fence row is always a good spot to place snares for coyotes.

That being said, the last coyote I encountered face to face was in full prime, a male, and was as big as my large male GSD (100 pounds in winter).
He was beautiful in color and markings.
The dogs chased him at least a half a mile before returning, he only stood for a few seconds figuring me out, from maybe 80 yards away.

Did you guys see this one?  The guy was obviously not afraid, but this was only one coyote, so I can see where two would get even braver!

If there are kids in the room you might want to mute it as the language gets a little off.

I dunno,
the guy could very well have gotten bitten.
It is good footage.
Not so sure this was a natural encounter with a (wild) coyote.
You see they can be quite attractive, handsome animals in full prime.

We've had people here breed both wolves, coyotes, and the wolf dog cross hybrid wolves, and sell them.
We had a problem a few years back with what they were calling wolves at the time, raiding trash cans and attacking dogs, they ran in a pack and were finally all shot.
It was pretty much determined that they were hybrid wolf crosses that had been released by someone.

sorta along the same lines, itty bitty fox attack caught on tape.
Looks almost like he is doing ringsport.
