You expect an army to come after you guys? Who exactly are you protecting yourself from the boogieman or The Walking Dead?

I like what Mindhunt said.

Thank you Blitzen, it was a rough week with far too many parentally challenged children and adolescents. Too many incarcerated individuals who never had a chance with their childhood, children, adolescents, and adults medicated into mental health disorders (incorrect diagnosis or no real need for medication but given it anyway).
The violence in today's world is not due to video games, guns, tv and movies.....it is caused by humans not being humane to others, end of story

And that's something that's going to be impossible to fix. I'm still not sure that violent videos and films don't have a negative impact on some kids. I do know that if I had kids under 16 they would not be playing those games or watching "Bullet to the Head" with my permission. I'd err on the side of caution
. My kids never "got away" with much; when they were 10 and 11 they were sure I had eyes in the back of my head and could see through walls. No kidding, they were serious when they told me that. I never told them any different either.

I think there is one comment about "parents not teachng empathy" as an underlying "problem with kids these days". It is my view that violent video games certainly can and actually do teach the opposite of empathy. They teach detachment, don't they? It just goes to reason if empathy is teachable, then the opposite should be true, too.
