I will amend ... organic is healthier in nutruients because of the riches put back into the soil, is my thought about the proof, the mangagement of the soil.... not just the seed! And pesticides go against this, among other things, the resistance build up is disheartening.

Moons, the thing with the rice is not the naturally occurring arsenic in the soil. It's the arsenic saturated soil on farmland that used to be planted in cotton, which was treated with arsenic to get rid of boll weevils. That land is now flooded and planted in rice. The arsenic doesn't go away and the rice absorbs it. Brown rice has the most because the outer shell contains the most arsenic, hence, brown rice is worse. This is rice grown in the US in Texas and La. The thing about organically grown veg not being cost effective is a lie propagated by FDA. They are now saying that pesticides and herbicide residue is not harmful to humans. BS!

I know,
still I consider genetic engineering to be far more destructive all things considered.
Of course they lie, nothing new there.

Research Ive done on organic farming is that organic farmers do use pesticides (which I was sad about) but are plant based. Insects, leaf mold, etc would overtake fields if nothing was used.
My question is..... Im stuck to buy Imported Mexican produce. Not too happy about that.

I think the difference with pesticides is that organic farming uses natural instead of chemical. Natural pesticides are found in nature and are not residual or absorbed by the plant to poison who ever eats it. So, you don't have a cumulative effect of poison when you eat organically grown produce that occurs with toxic chemicals. Pyrethrims from chrysanthemums, hot pepper crumbles, diatomaceous earth, just to name a few.

And the other thing is, the use of certain natural-based pesticides is not indiscriminate. They are used for a specific pest that is actually present. Therefore, less is used while it is used precisely, to kill the pest and/or treat a condition, such as rusts and molds, etc. Usually the time it takes to break down the natural-based chemicals in the pesticides to a non-lethal state, is considerably less, too.
