who wants me to Thump-her?

by beetree on 28 July 2011 - 17:07

Lady Frost he's my Thumper alright, the kid let the dog out, not knowing he was focused on the bunny, and the bunny ran staight for home, right through an opening in the garden fence into the horseradish. Then the dog jumped over the fence and started trampling the peppers as Thumper led him on a merry chase! I stopped him before he could do too much damage, the little stinker.

beetree...LOL...I bet you had a really nice name for MoJo at that time and a few additional ones for Thumper....

my garden this year went to hell....we had hail at the end of May destroyed leaves on squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc. I never replanted anything so in a 30 ' by 15' area i have 1 stick with a gold size of a green tomato smack in the middle of waste high weeds....thats it....LOL

Well, the carpenters working on my house did ask and say as Mojo and I were heading back to the house, "Somebody must have been a bad dog!" LOL

My garden is actually doing pretty good! (So are the weeds, I'll get to them later, LOL) But I see some red tomatos, and assorted peppers, the corn is tassling and the bean tower is looking nice. Sunflowers and marigolds are looking good, if I use that Bobbex to keep away deer I should be okay. First time ever planting lima beans, so we'll see what happens. Also I have a tomatilla, but really don't know anything about it, and Japanese popping corn! That ought to be fun for the kids. Oh and the squash is going gangbusters. I usually am under attack with powdery mildew and squash bugs, started new seeds (plan B - remember) just in case. Thanks for asking, sorry about your, um, eh.... stick! Next year will be better, lol

LOOOL...thats okay, thanks...I bought one of those guaranteed to be HUGE pumpkin seed (on picture on the box there was a 4 year old looking kid next to a pumpkin that was bigger than him, so i thought what the heck..why not) and planted few seeds so the plant is humongous its like 20 feet long now, the pumpkin started growing and it was a size of a basketball and looked promising....it was all nice and great except the plant crawled out of the garden so the pumpkin was on the outside of the garden fence inside the back yard...lets just say dogs had fun playing with it and that eating it....so that ended out Giant pumpkin saga....but that okay Sasha had fun giving it a proper burial and reburial after dogs would dig it up..i had never been much of a Gardner..i am more of a shopper...LOOOOL
