I lived in LA and have a pretty good sense of how people there feel about the LAPD and friends who still live there ..... so if you want to attribute their reaction to fostering a "justifiable rebellion" you are missing the point. Oh, and I am not seeking to defend the indefensible and I think I made that point very clear. But there are many (especially minorities) in LA who believe the LAPD is corrupt to the core .......... and therein lies the reaction of many people who are sympathetic to Dohner.

Shooting up two poor innocent women doesn't make the police department look that great either.

If your LAPD and govt is corrupt and unresponsive... my point is, applauding the way to fixing it by supporting the actions from a rambling, manifesto-writing, self-proscribed Rambo type is not the way to go. Corruption in cities and countries for that matter will always be an ongoing, neverending wheel of greatness and corruption that makes it always necessary for self correction. That is why "vigilence" is our civic duty, is it not?
And to further illustrate my take on the situation, I get the feeling BE4U would love to have this guy as a houseguest and give him a nice care package to take with him, should he happen to knock on her door. Get what I am saying?
And yes, it is these conspiracy types, along with the overthrow the current gov't, revolutionary types like BE4U and Moons, who love to goad on what normal people, find appalling. I certainly will stand by those words. It is the utter truth.

If he makes it to Canada, you can keep him. And I hope he stays there.

We disagree on whether Dohner has a legitimate grievance - you think he may not have and I think he does and the reality is that neither of us knows for sure. I base my belief in the past history of this individual and what I know about the LAPD as an institution.
.
The LAPD chief knows the past history of the department:
"I am aware of the ghosts of the LAPD's past and one of my biggest concerns is that they will be resurrected by Dorner's allegations of racism within the department," Beck said in a prepared statement. "...Therefore, I feel we need to also publicly address Dorner's allegations regarding his termination of employment."
He assumes things have fundamentally changed but he is delusional or being disingenuous.
It is all very well saying that there is corruption everywhere - true, but there is more in some places more than others. More to the point, it is all academic until it affects one us personally. The Sandy Hook parents probably viewed gun control as academic when it affected Columbine but have a very different view now that it has affected them. Human nature ..... and not a knock on those parents.
It affected Dohner personally ............ and many who live in LA are aware of what goes on. It does not justify what Dohner is doing but that is why there are those who are sympathetic to him. Nothing to do with the overthrow of the government or insurrection. And if you think that is what all this is about, you are delusional.
The difference in our respective attitudes is apparent when one looks at the shooting of the two women. You think it was a mistake and they will be compensated for what happened. I think there is something fundamentally wrong when two innocent women are shot without any apparent warning and despite the lack of any aggressive action by them, their car is riddled with bullets ........... and the chief of police attributes it to stress that his men are undergoing because of Dohner. IMO, those officers who did the shooting should be fired.

BeeTree .. Dorners allegiance to federal power and attempt to rectify order within a group of people has many qualities of proto fascism. Exactly what YOU are doing.
