Er what did you prove about me again. and what facts do you state? more like you throw confetti in the air.

you certainly don't lack a high opinion of yrself.

now what is it you proved to me?

I got more than thread going on hard to stay on it. takes a lot of effort to dumb down enough sometimes.

just remind me if you ever think i have ignored a direct question, gets busy at times.

Hund, religion has been exactly that over time, an excuse. If you pay attention, it is no longer the flavor of the month save isolated areas, and has become quite passe given the orientation in academic and political power centers. If anything, the idea simply contributes to the media show, as is the case with Middle East. Ibrahim has come right out and explained the which in which they care a lot less about Islam in terms of faith than they do about Islam as a social marker, to the same economic ends as anyone else. Yes, 2 weeks ago, as the excuses for the excise of control over people are and have changed from the antiquated thought prevalent on this forum.

vk4,

LOL, Throw confetti in the air! I like that actually. I never am obvious, true. The bits flying in the air, however are true. It is boring to me to spout stuff for the sake of proving I am a better spouter of stuff than you! (That is a general "you" and not a personal "you", BTW.) I also think your dumber posts have nothing to do with any effort on your part... Teeth Smile . I do like to see someone make a little effort, just to see if it is equal in worth to any effort I might attempt. That too.

Here are the ignored posts, and/or concepts, or whatever we are forced to argue what to call them in an attempt to ignore the real issues.

I also proved that the Bible was never intended to be a fairy tale, but really I have to repost all that too? Just go back and try to actually understand what makes you so uncomfortable!

tell us something not obvious carlin

That would be nice, but the obvious and elementary somehow still seems evades the intellectual juggernauts present, who are seemingly persuaded to use this platform for little more than an opportunity to rant to those which contitute a difference of scenery wherein at least here they may be real, breathing, hominid, or not totally fed up with listening to the ubiquitous ranting.

Bee you have low criteria for proof. not sure if am supposed to argue to try defend i am not sure exactly what i am defending, oh that's right i have doubts and am scared or do i provide a proof winning ceremony in yr honor. help a brother out here, have no idea how to respond to yr proofness it is so proovy.

beetree, I disagree that vk's emotional response is an article of doubt, though I do agree it's one of fear.  And that fear is of turning the entire world into what we see in the Middle East.  I also have that fear and it is real.  Religion is supposed to remain in the personal realm of life, because there is no evidence to support the "truth" of it.  When you can reasonably show human beings, as a whole, that there is a reason to restrict their lives, their actions and their livliehoods, you'd better bring plenty of evidence, the kind that can be used in a court of law (just laws = equality and fairness).  The laws should deal with harm and harm alone, not opinion.  When opinions rule all, there is nothing but slavery and that is something more evil than any religion can think of as punishment in a "next life".  This life is all we have evidence for and to waste someone else's to fit any dogma is the ultimate oppression.  That's how simple it is, really.

Right on.

good night.

One thing I forgot to add.  It's the religious who are bringing the argument to the public square, yet irate when they're told of the reasons it's not welcome there.  So if they don't want their laundry aired in the public square, perhaps they should hang it in their own back yards.  When you hang your stained underwear out where all can view it, don't get upset when someone mentions the stains!  Yes, again, it's that simple!

by beetree on 23 March 2014 - 13:03

The thing is Travels, it most definitely was a Freudian slip to include the telling "article" of speech I have provided as "proof". If he was as convinced in himself as he would like us all to believe, he would simply have stated the much more forceful assertion that does not include the article. Couple that with the multitudinous threads he continues to swamp the board with, and the pattern is there for all to see. Patterns to me, show a distinct lack of arbitrarinous, and indicate purpose. His purpose is to find an answer to his pain=fear=doubts.

Clearly his institutionalized religious instruction harmed him in some way that he has been unable to move past, and typically as people will do, he lashes out at what has become a most convenient and willing target. I believe it is more accurate to state who you call, the "religious" and vk4, the-pained-one, both, "bring the argument to the public square." You'll have to be more exact by reposting examples of individuals getting, "yet irate when they're told of the reasons it's not welcome there." At least for me to address and make a valid comment. Too vague really, who you specifically mean and what inspired your assertion.

I am not going to address all of your personal assertions in that concise paragraph you wrote, at this time. There will be ample opportunity I am sure, to pick them off, one at a time, as time goes by.
Teeth Smile

vk4, the proof I have started with, is still more proof than you have provided for any of your assertions. Nighty-night!
