another great insight, i am both a non-beleiver AND the anti-christ.
only a very confused mind could juggle those two concepts and think they can logically describe the same thing.
i guess making sense is not high on your list of things to do.

Ruger, I will try to be more clear :
The type of remarks LGBTN people hear, all the time, everywhere, which can lead
to individuals feeling bullied, include some on this thred; from YR's "not Adam & Steve"
through LF's questionable scientific findings, to Shtal's "Sins" (and I haven't even started
on RedSable's remarks !). But I was not writing exclusively about just the stuff ON the thred.
We get this stuff from all over. Somebody who has insecurities about their sexuality, e.g.
those who are young, those who live or work in areas where a lot of prejudice exists, etc,
are frequently made to feel very uncomfortable in their skins. I'm not claiming this is a
deliberate effort to hurt on the part of everybody who uses those phrases; but it certainly is
in some cases, and the effect of lazy repetition can be just as painful, no matter the intention.
Unless you count yourself part of that LGBTQ 'community' (and no, I'm not fishing for a personal
reveal), it is hard to see how effective that can be; and, as with any group of people, sometimes
even within that community, the hardier or more fortunate - and therefore more confidant - folk
feel much less threatened and they too find it difficult to remember that such remarks can do damage.
You say that the christian way is not to preach how people should behave - but that scriptural piece of
direction seems to elude an awful lot of 'religious' [not only christian] people, who do precisely that.

Hey Shtal, why are you serving God again? Why, isn't it so you can live an eternity of bliss? Isn't it so that you can be the favored child? And that's not selfish?

What I mean about it being difficult for the religious to fit genetic and evolutionary information
around a belief that identifying as gay (etc) is that sexuality is ONLY EVER A
matter of CHOICE, was that the two cancel each other out. How can homosexuality be
nature rather than nurture if it is believed that all humankind is made in 'god's image'
and has the physical equipment which supposedly proves that only procreative, hetero
sex acts were designed ? So of course those preaching against / denying the normality
of a homosexual percentage of the population are going to say that "we were not designed
for it, therefore it has to be a matter of choice" ... and by their lights of course that would
be the wrong choice.
Ergo, if sexuality cannot be congenital / genetic in origin, how can one lightly accept a
genetic base for ANY condition / type / race / illness ???
Is that helpful ? I only just woke up, so sorry for the delay in response.

GSD Admin, your assumptions about me are so far off they don't deserve a response...
Funny how the majority of your posts already have a pre-disposed answer...in your mind a rational discussion is not a viable outcome...per my observations
You proclaim to NOT be an atheist, yet go into a complete paragraph about why you are not a miserable person.
Since we have so many experts on here about Gays, I have a question.
Are most gays also atheist?
If so, is it only because a lot of religions are against gays?

By the way, I'm from MA. We haven't burned a witch here in over a 100 years to the best of my recollection.
I think Salem MA has moved on and is over that.
But if burning witches is important to you, please come to Salem and tour our various witch museums, even if your gay or an atheist, black or American Indian or any other group that GSD constanly mentions as oppressed, because we still love your money. Also our state is overflowing with bleeding heart liberals that will make you feel right at home. Please book a trip soon, it's starting to get a little colder here...
Now back to our regular scheduled nonsense, sorry for the interruption.
Have a nice day...

The native Americans had quite the array of torture available to them that their cultures found to be acceptable for any number of conquered people. Why wouldn't native Americans be called religious in their spirituality, as well? Seems like certain groups get singled out for halo'd status all the time. With or without the Bible.

if you take Christians out of this world, for sake of argument lets say VK had convinced us all, and Hndmtr succeeded and everyone converted to homosexuality, will the birth rate be + (plus) at that point? will this be the very last generation and humanity? will we exist for the last 70 years? talk about depression and suicide levels and how many lesbians would be willing to carry children to sustain the population? Just wondering if this is the Utopia some of you are dreaming about?....
