Why is it you have a puppy buyer, you talk to them on the phone, email 3 or even 5 times some days, you get to know them for a few weeks, then you send them your precious puppy that you reared and loved. Then you email just to be sure that everything is fine, why can't they take the time to respond ?

I am sure it is just that they are all having such a great time together, but I sure hope that I hear from them tomorrow.

Just a worried Mum.

I agree, seems to me they can at least show you the common curteousy of a follow-up e-mail.

god i spend hours on the phone / e-mail seeing how they are getting on ....I LOVE IT its one of the best parts of being a breeder.

if i don't hear from them for a while i get sooooo worried i am going to do an unexpected visit on the two i haven't heard from just to make sure that the dogs are ok.

mind you the breeder i got my girl from isn't really interested in  her:( i called to tell him that her hips were super e-mailed him with pics from her litter and to tell him she had passed her PP course with flying colors ETC nothing:( and he should be proud !!! mind you i wouldn't hesitate to buy another pup from him.

Each breeder is different. I've kept in touch with my female's breeder for over a year and a half now, and he's always glad to hear from me, and hear  how she's doing.

Of course, his wife had to run back into the house as I was leaving with the pup, so she wouldn't embarrass herself by crying in front of me...

At last, I was starting to panic, picked up the phone & put it down again, didn't want to sound like a mother hen, then I checked emails and there was the news that I had been waiting for. They adore him, he's great with their young children, loves to swim in the pool and the beach, plays football with the kids and he is clean in the house. Yeah I'm HAPPY.

It has only been 5 days since he left home.

I know that when my friend bought their dog (not a GSD), the breeder had written it into the contract that monthly updates were required for the first year. I don't know what is suppose to happen in year's two and beyond. Karen

interesting. i have the opposite. i love my girl and send the breeder updates regularly but hear nothing back. they begged for pictures in the future, at the time of purchase. i sent a bunch with a letter and heard nothing back. kind of bothers me but i understand they are busy people and may not have the time for social e-mails. they gave me a fair deal on my girl and i want them to know how much i love her so i keep e-mailing anyway.

glad you heard back from your buyers. : )

Most of my puppy buyers do stay in touch, I love to hear from them all and I always reply just to let them know how much I appreciate their emails and photos.

I also have a 5 week old litter now, they are all sold and I send weekly updates with photos  just to keep new owners informed and they love that also. I hope that they will continue to keep Me up to date also when they take their puppies home.

I too keep in touch WITH ALL my pups families. I love getting the pics back , I love when someone calls me for a pup and says such and such told me you have the best dogs, to which, I KNOW I DO.
