K-9mom

by K-9mom on 28 November 2008 - 15:11

Well, considering I got  a new job in late 2006 which I LOVE, it does require working weekends so we only got out two weekends this year to compete.

So, with that said, I am very proud of my crew having attained 4 titles this year on 3 dogs.

Chevy, my 4 year old (going on 6 months), attained his Rally Advanced Title.

Gracie, my 2 year old, attained her Rally Advanced and Rally Excellent Titles.

Ox, my 13 month old, just attained his Rally Novice Title.

2009 goals are (if we can finagle weekends off):

Chevy - AKC Tracking Title (TD), Rally Excellent (RE), Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE) Novice & Open Agility Titles (Standard & Jumpers)

Gracie - Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE), and Novice Agility (Standard & Jumpers), AKC Obedience (CD)

Ox - Rally Advanced (RA), Rally Excellent (RE), AKC Tracking Title

Peewee - Rally Novice (RN), Advanced (RA), and Excellent (RE) Titles so she can retire. :o(

Echo - Finish her Open Agility Titles and achieve her Advanced Excellent (AX & AXJ) so she can retire. :o(

Dale - Finish his Elite Agility Titles in NADAC so he too can retire. :o(

Happy Goals to all!!!!

Looking back I have not accomplished as much as I thought this year (especially in comparison to 2007).

Felice vom Amulree - Rally Advanced and GSD - Temperment Tested and 6 highest fund raiser in the Canine Relay for Life and made the American Cancer Society's 2009 Calendar as June.

Liberty "Libby" - Rally Excellent and 1 leg on  her RAE Title

Goals for 2009:

Felice vom Amulree - Schtutzhund I, CDX and Rally Excellent and hopefully a leg or two in Utility.

Liberty "Libby" - RAE Title

Falon - Rally Novice

Would like to obtain Molly's Family Obedience and Protection alert if I can ever find a trial within a few hours drive of my house.

Deeswolf  that is AWSOME!!!! congratulations to you and your female on your SCHH3

K9mom that is great to hear!!!  Rally is a lot of fun. It really puts back the fun in training and titling. I hope you get more weekends off so you can finish up your Rally.

Renofan it does not matter if it is one title or ten the point is you got out there and get them! Congratulation on the calender !!! I bet you own a few :) I know I would.

I did post a new thread about goals for 2009 as I saw some of you posting.

Again Congratulations to everyone. It is good to see that people got out and did something reguardless of AKC or SCHH and had fun with their dogs.

Not enough... LOL  BUT....The year isn't over yet.

So far only three "new" titles, two repeat SchH 3 trial entries, one regional trial, three Sieger shows, a few club and regional shows (lost count of number of show entries but at least 20-25, 10 in the Canadian S/S) and one seminar (1 dog entered)  I have a couple of dogs near-ready for new titles and a possible repeat FH1, looking at trials in Dec if weather permits training that late in the year.

Plan for 2009? 3 first-time SchH 1's (and hopefully 2's & 3's as the year progresses) at least one "new" FH1, and hopefully an entry in the N.A. FH Championship in May. (depending on the loaction and my pathetic budget ;) 5-6 AD's, 5 breed surveys, 2-3 Sieger shows, (multiple entries) at least one regional show, a few club shows, and maybe even one to go to the BSZS.

Yes. I AM out of my mind. Yes, I will probably fail at least once. Yes, I will get over it and try again. Ha ha ha. "If you never rode, you were never thowed"

Oh yeah... Add one club trial hosted here at home, possibly a seminar and another WDA Helper Certification event. .

Just my PDC.

nothing fancy. angus and i joined a doggie drill team and have had more fun than i expected with it. angus has 3 girlfriends from that. he is also going to be in a commercial for the people who organize the drill team and who have a grooming and dog training company. i went back to school this past fall, taking watercolor (no math classes for me) and doing really very well in it. i have some talent in it and will continue. i have not beaten my teenage son with a stick (but the year ain't over!) our dogs have been healthy and so have we. a good friend has survived breast cancer and another friends daughter was in the macy's parade on thanksgiving. the year wasn't perfect, but it wasn't all that shabby either.

congrats to all who achieved lots of titles with their dogs.
