WTF?

by Donald Deluxe on 15 June 2011 - 18:06

"wonder why its not nation wide reporting...."

Probably because the "story" is just foolishness on some loony-tune's blog and not an actual news event that would be carried by any credible news organization.

Fukushima took a long time to hit the news outlets too, so that in and of itself doesn't mean much.

The FAA did establish a no-fly zone.  http://tfr.faa.gov/save_pages/detail_1_6523.html
The no-fly zone was in effect even before other incidents in the plant.  It's just a precaution.

There was an electrical fire in a control room a week ago, but it was put out, and the reactor is in a shut-down state.

thanks Moons and mudwick..i didnt even think of CNN....

Reason I posted is for INFORMATION because Emergency management groups receiving alerts as far as 2 states over,  its nothing big YET, just a request to verify of how much supplies can our suppliers deliver under 24 hr notice, how long would it take to transfer people from airports and how many people can we take in...there was no reference to any news or events but little googling points towards Nebraska...i mean why would anyone want to know if we have RSO (radiation safety officer) on site? and how many active HERTS team members do we have....this is obviously not for dog forum but i figured i pass on info that i was able to locate because until today i had no idea Nebraska was even having issues...take it as information to maybe just maybe keep an eye on and possibly watch for changes in your own health...

I've been out of the Emergency Management game for awhile now, but just to take a stab at it?

Could it be because those actions are part of a comprehensive emergency managament plan any time there is significant flooding near a nuclear reactor plant?
