I find M. Carter's comments totally ridiculous. I had a Troll son - Arek vom Bodenthal. I have a Troll and mink grandson - Chief vom Patiala. I know Randy as she is a club member and a friend. So I know about Mink as well - not just through Randy but through some other people who saw him. I have seen a lot of Mink's direct progeny as well. I have seen a number of Troll offsprings and a number of Fero offsprings. I must say that I liked a majority of them. A few years ago, I spent some time with Heinz Schlotterer (spellings??) and asked him about Troll, Timmy, Askia and Fero and got his perspective. I found him to be very honest, and a nice man. I have talked to some people who have worked both Troll and Fero. I have heard nothing but good things about these dogs. Every dog is going to produce some good, some average, and some not so good dogs. Overall, the Fero and Mink lines have produced very well. That is the main reason why so many people have bred into these lines. Ajay Singh www.ajaysingh.com

Fero (V-BSP) Troll (V-BSP) Gotthilf von der Kine(BSP Champion) Timmy(V-BSP) Vello von der bösen Nachbarschaft (V-BSP) Boris vom Saltztalblick Okar von Karthago(5xBSP - 1xBSP Champion) JUST TO NAME A FEW... Troll (V-BSP) Yoschy (LGA & BSP Comp) belschik (BSP & WUSV Comp) Aly (BSP comp) I think his top three Timmy (V-BSP) Half vom Ruhbachtal (BSP comp) Coming through Half (Nick vom Heiligenbösch 3xBSP & WUSV) & all the N-litter THE FERO LIST IS ENDLESS WITH TOP PRODUCERS AND COMPETITORS!!!! Mink (2x SG-BSP) Crok (BSP comp) Jago von der Lindenhalle Lewis von Malatesta (4xBSP 2xV)(2x WUSV comp) Arko von der Parkstraße (BSP) Iko von der Lindenhalle LGA Erko aus der Glockenbergsschäferei (2xBSP) JUST TO NAME A FEW!!!! I RAN OUT OF TIME, GOTTA GO AND TRAIN. Vikram, I feel as though people talk about these dogs in a somewhat negative because they are in so many top dogs pedigree's. People like kougar are talking about being free of fero or mink because that gives people blood to maybe breed back to their fero or mink. When I say the blood is free of troll or fero I advertise that only because people that have troll bloodlines in there kennel might want a dog coming through my bloodlines for there breeding program. Without Fero, Mink, Gildo, Xento and in my opinion Chicco (German dogs) our modern working bloodlines would not be as correct. You see many Germans breeding to Tom and many other dogs coming from Belgium for fresh blood which is great to see also.

Thanks everyone for your valuable inputs I definitely have a clearer understanding now. However one thing which saddened me is that a lot of people wrote me their opinions and inputs offline through emails. They did not think it was wise to write on this forum or just avoided it. These people were obviously very knowledgeable but just did not feel like writing on this board.

Hi Vikram: If your goal is to learn then you have to be selective about whom you want to learn from. All the members on this list have an equal right to post a comment. However, it does not mean that their comment carries the same weight. So you have to sift through a lot of garbage to learn something good. I give the same advice to puppy buyers who want to do their research about the lines before they buy a puppy. The main research you have to do is who is the breeder you can trust and what has he produced before. So you have to consider the source along with the opinion. Ajay

I heard recently that the Nachbarschaft kennel had their last litter in 1998. Have they shut shop?

by Patiala on 01 January 2005 - 21:01

Yes. Roman Schuler, the breeder of the Bosen Nachbarchaft kennel died around that time. Ajay Singh
