Are we, as a society, partially  responsible for this? Or are these boys simply spawns of the devil? This is gruesome.

Sorry, couldn't get the link to work. Maybe someone else might have better luck?

this is beyond horrifying.
normally I support children only being tried as juveniles in juvenile court...but these two should never be set free in public.  What truly sick sociopaths.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/wisconsin-boys-13-charged-brutal-hatchet-slaying-great-grandmother-change-buy-pizza-article-1.1165410   above link has photos of the boys and of the grandmother.    If links do not work then just google "13 yr boy kills grandmother"

Thanks Euro for making that a clickable link. Oh my is all I can say. But I agree about locking them up for the rest of their life. What a damn shame. They look like little punk asses and their grandmother looked like a typical older lady. Probably was a very nice person.

You know I used to wonder where things went wrong and on and on. Did the media have a big play in all these vilolent crimes? But I have come to this decision, 100 years ago and back from that, there were less people, we haven't the access to immediate info like we do now--tv, radio, computer..............it took forever back then to get a newspaper.............I think the same types of things went on it just wasn't sensationalized like it is now. I mean this will be the type of thing that will go on and on. Why did they do it? What's wrong with them? Their trials, their convictions, etc. Then 48 Hours Mystery or Dateline will make a big todo doc out of it...............and they'll be famous................shame..............

No one see the film "The Bad Seed" or "Rosemary's Baby"? IMO sociopaths are born that way. Euthanasia would be the punishment that fits the crime.

Yes,
some humans are born this way.
No,
it is not a recent affliction, the world has gotten smaller and this kind of news sells.
No,
the punishment never fits the crime, but there seems to be only two cures, confinement or removal from society all together.
Rehabilitation cannot cure certain defects.

I once lived two doors down from a teenager (15) who did the same thing to another neighbor three doors down, an elderly lady in her seventies who was only kind and pleasant to everyone.
His whereabouts at this time are unknown, he was released back into society.

That was forty two years ago, not much has changed.

No I never saw the Bad Seed. Hmm I will have to check that out. Rosemary's Baby--yep I have seen it several times.

Death Penalty? Oh yeah I am for it. Of course in this case it would never happen because they are juveniles.

So Moons you're saying this kid did time but he did eventually get out? That's scarey. I don't think he ever should have.

our socity has changes, we now worship chidren instead of teach them right from wrong, we teach them self esteem with out accomplishment, many have no religion (morals).........

ultimately parents are responsible for their children. so much of their values are learned before that age of 5 and parents are too busy...... they go to daycare......God only know what happens when a child is raised in a "pack" invironment. used to be, grandparents were part of the necular family, children were raised by grandparents, or by stay at home mothers instead of by complete strangers. children were forced to go to church.... some still practice this.........and NOW and other society in general put down stay at home moms (example Ann Romney, ther are more).

just my observations..........as a sometimes stay at home mother, who homeschooled for 2 years.......... (2-3 grade and 4-5 grade at same time)........ when my kids when back to public school, the change was horrifying.

In many middle class households in the US both parents must work fulltime jobs just to make ends meets.
