Hi Sue, I am of the opinion that she is not being worked enough. Besides club training I'm doing fun stuff like teaching the blinds, lots of tug work and long hiers with food for motivation. She is getting more house time as well. The problem started back in October while she was at a boarding kennel while my wife and I were on our honeymoon. I live in New Jersey and the running in the heavy snow seemed to wipe her out nicely as well. I'm wondering if hanging a spring pole in her kennel would wor

Flank sucking: I have a four month old German Shepherd pup who is flank sucking. I am not sure what to do with her about that. Any ideas?

In my opinion these behaviors are definate signs of high drive with low threshhold - dogs that can't handle their drive, "crazy" drive, unstable nerves, instability in temperament - not a dog I would breed, or want to own. Definately not something easy to "treat" as it's not a medical problem, it's a mental problem. Amputating the tail works, but then the dog would probably do something else destructive to itself. Good luck! ps what is the breeding of this dog?

HI SORRY TO SAY BUT THERE IS NOT A LOT OF HELP YOU CAN GIVE A DOG WHEN THEY BITE THERE TAIL I HAD ONE WHEN WE HAD HIS TAIL REMOVED DEW TO INFECTION HE STARTED ON HIS BACK LEG AS EICHENLUFT SAID IT IS A MENTAL PROBLEN
