gsdpal2, Go to the 'latest pictures' part of the website. Many of the black and white photos being added are of American bred Shepherds. Alexis

Here's a link to the latest registration in the "Latest registrations section: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/403782.html Follow the female line and keep clicking on the bottom female to follow the pedigree back to around the 1920"s. You'll end up right here: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/9158.html Notice Donna of Ireton's Grand Dam on Dam's side is named Cita of Kencaro. She supposedly has unknown parentage. Click on her name and you end up here: http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/402698.html Notice that even though she has unknown parents her grandsire is Horand von Grafrath (1895) on her sire's side and on her dam's side her grand sire in Glen von Horand (1990)! Now that IS VERY interesting! LOL! It's a joke folks... someone's having fun with the site again making up pedigree's. It is VERY annoying when things like this occur on such a great site. I'm not sure if the pedigrees are correct, but most, if not all, of the Am bred dogs pictured are quite old, from the late 70's, some may be older. IMO, they are not really representative of the dogs being shown at AKC shows today. There are a few showing in AKC shows who are doing fairly well with German imports. Breeder/judge, Morton Goldfarb, recently finished a good looking import. Another breeder/judge, Dan Smith, imported and finished Jim von Fiermereck, the Canadian sieger a few years back. Jim is producing well with Am bred bitches and is on target to become the first import in many years to earn his ROM title from the GSDCA. Smith has imported a number of nice dogs from Germany to breed to his AM bred bitches. I believe Jim is the first import he's finished to an AKC championship, but some of his imports x Am breds have earned Schutzhund titles in the US. I see good in both and feel much can be learned from the American fanciers as well as from those who favor the West German imports. So far, I've not met many with DDR dogs.

Those are some of the foundation dogs/bitches from the 70's, a very very different dog from today.. They are not even close to what you see in the ring today and they are totally evolved from Horand and the early group of the first dogs ever named as German Shepherd Dogs. Incidentally, hate to be nitpicky but American Bred is a term that can be used for a good number of German lines dogs as well. Those of us breedingour dogs here in the US - our dogs are American Bred!! Maybe American show lines is more descriptive...

I don’t think anyone is looking to falsify their dogs pedigree but when the name of the Bitch is unknown – one chooses Unknown Female name, if the name of the dog is unknown, one chooses Unknown male! Someone has found a way to be able to enter their dog into the Pedigree database, and not get rejected based on parentage not already registered here! Until Oli (or whomever) provides the means by which one is allowed to register a dog with unknown parentage, things like this will happen! There are 395 dogs registered out of Unknown Male, There are 414 dogs registered out of Unknown Female Name and 390 dogs registered out of Unknown Male and Unknown Female Name! They have not all been added recently – so let’s not criticize whomever has added the ROM and CH for having done something, others have done for some time!

Well I have a VERY nice female in Columbus,Ohio and she was born in Marion,Ohio. See her here: http://puppy4u.us/TIPS.htm I for some reason CANNOT get her entered in here in the database. I have tried. Her papers are on the linked page as well. Does anyone here know how to get her in the database and what do you charge?

That pic looks photoshopped to me. You can see where part of her front leg has been erased. And I don't think that is the background the dog was in when the pic was taken either. Also what is with the backend of that dog? You can tell somebody used the smear tool in photshop (or something like it) for some reason. The dog looks plastic!!!

I pasted her onto the grass, in photoshop 7. I have not otherwise retouched the photo. I am no pro-I learned from FREE ONLINE fromSue Chastain at http://graphicssoft.about.com/cs/gettingstarted/ht/learngraphics.htm The camera was a MUSTEK DV3000-$189- with accessories from Home Shopping Network.(The puppy photo of her was taken with a $15- keychain spycam.) The software bunch was bought at an storage auction and came with a computer set-up for $239-Total. I have not otherwise retouched the photo. I am a very ethical sort of person and I have no reason to alter my pet photos. It is exciting to meet a graphics person who is into dogs! Do you know of any good photo galleries of german shepherds?

Hey...my friend just told me you were insulting me! Here is a video of her(mustek) at the male dog's (her puppy's daddy) website http://cooperkennels.com/about.htm She is the one in the lead "bringing to momma" also a photo here (disposable camera) http://puppy4u.us/PARENTS.htm. She is that shiny. We feed her a homemade feed supplement with brewers yeast, flax, etc. I sold my puppies to pet homes for $500-, but I understand her pedigree is very good.

Well, I won't knock the fact that her dogs are from "American Shepherds" but I do want to know WHY she bred this female so young? Oh, I went to OFA and couldn't find her OFA on file either. Assuming that the little (possibly a coat) puppy named "Stripe" was born on 4-20-04 and the mother's DOB is 5-29-02 AND according to her website she's going to breed her AGAIN, possibly on her next heat cycle. http://puppy4u.us/index.htm The name alone tells me that the poor bitch will have the life bred out of her so they can sell their pups for $500.00 each as stated in the above note. Sad to say...Just another BackYardBreeder...So Sad ;-( -Mel michelle@rainbowhighway.com SAID... Hey...my friend just told me you were insulting me!
