The 18 thingie was done because of Graffiti (Tags) problems I believe.

This is not the greatest, but I am not even doing it for my section!
I still need to do Doc for this person, too. I can try to touch it up a bit more... Need to let it dry, first.

My favorite is the alien one. I love the hand gestures!
by beetree on 24 April 2014 - 22:04
Yes, the hand gestures were a challenge! LoL Thanks!
Here is Doc. Might be too painterly for what she wants... Oh well, I can tweak it more later... if so... I will now leave for the school and hope the will do!

Well, this one has a ""Hopper-esque" feel to it, in a cubist sort of way. I kind of like it anyway.
I can tell I am not painting on an easel, lol
I will touch it up later, (maybe) ... I think it will suffice.
... They were happy with the head shots!
Camera shot is a bit off... Perspective-wise... :-/
I really don't like it when I have to be so straight with lines!
by beetree on 27 April 2014 - 22:04
i fixed up the lines as best I could, after resurrecting my easel from the cellar. Needed a mighty de-spidering. But, it sure makes a difference.
Weird, the lines are better, but there is a different feel.

Phone booths and /or payphones are going extinct now. That matrix movie is so dated

by Hundmutter on 28 April 2014 - 05:04
Maybe the first stage, because it was slightly more wobbly, gave an
impression of movement, in time & space, and was therefore 'truer' to
the function of the Tardis ?
The second pic is recognisably a better depiction of the Tardis, but if
you could somehow get that sense of movement back into it, you might
restore the 'different feel' ? Just an idea, I'm not a Dr Who fan so I may
be missing something anyway.

Thanks for your comments Hundmutter. I appreciate all constructive critiiques.
I was using this teeny, tiny picture without much detail the first go around. Painting on the table with music blaring and a glass of wine. LOL It did make things a bit wobbly! (What resulted is what I saw as a flattening and altering of the perspective and called, "cubist".) The palette and feeling, even without a background in the first working of the image, I still find more interesting.
The feeling with the light did get lost with the re-working. For what I am doing this for, it will be "good enough" so I am going to leave it, learn from it, and move on to the next thing.
Now I have my easel in the kitchen! Not everyone is happy about that. LOL
@GSDLineage: Funny about the phone booths and Matrix! Still, there are so many great quotes I refer to for myself, with the Matrix movies, dated or not!

Now the others are wanting me to "do" their faces. Okay. But I still have my stuff, too. Deadline is looming, feels like work except they can't fire me 'till it is over.
Had to paint in the kitchen, don't look for perfection. I just don't have the time.
