Thankyou both - I think the problem with my boy is more or less sorted out.
The helper was in fact the problem. To raise the dog's defense traits (that is what he claims), this moron used to sneak upon him outside training and poke him with the stick. The trainer's wife found out from a kennel girl who saw this happen. Anyways - he is fired and the trainer's son who was the original helper has promised to drive down for training twice a week for training .
It has left the trainer in a state of shock -almost literally. He can't come to terms with the fact that he hired such a person in the first place.
In hindsight, i should have had him trained some place where I could drop in occassionally.
