Hi, I just bought a female working type german shepherd from a friend last week, but she doesnt have a good appetite. Is there anything I can give her to boost her appetite. Im currently feeding her eukanuba dog food for puppy. I also dewormed her 2days ago it is her third time to be dewormed since birth. She is 4months of age right now. Hope you guys can help me because in my oppinion she is really under weight. thanks

Has she been to a vet for a good exam?? Was she a good eater before you got her?? WAs she on Eukanuba before? Maybe try something different... good luck with her How is she acting otherwise... Sorry for all the questions...

The first thing to consider in a dog who has a poor appetite is medical. IF she is free of parasites, then the next question I would ask you is how you judge her to be underweight. Describe that. Many people think a dog underweight but most are overweight. IF she truly is underweight, then next I would ask about her food. Eukanuba is not my favorite food. Someone else suggests trying another food and that is a good idea. If she does not do better, then I would ask what her stools are like. Often a dog with some malabsorption problem will not like eating. If you can tell us more, we may be able to help.

Maybe she's needing to adjust to her new surroundings. I had a dog that took several weeks to finally settle down and eat. Tempt her with treats but not too many. Just so he starts feeling comfortable around you and her new area. You should take her to the vet though to make sure she's healthy. Arrakis

Providing she is healthy, consider changing the food. Perhaps your pup just does not like it. Oats and some homecooking, meat dribbling, veggies and rice. Potatoes cooked or baked. If she then still has no appetite, something must be wrong. JMO. They love everything that comes off of the stove.

I used to feed Eukanuba to my litters. I recently had the puppies not like Eukanuba, maybe the formula has been changed or something, but my pups refused to eat it. I had to change puppy food

You may want to look at this link: http://www.healthypetnet.com/products/food/dog/comparisons.asp?realname=10037649 I am not necessarily supporting the brand they are pushing but it gives you a pretty good idea of the relative quality of ome pet foods. Apart from their ethical issues Eukanuba is pretty poor quality.

And all This shitty Eukanuba is carrying full length complete page advertisements on latest Dog magazines in India claiming it to be the best food available for dogs in India. Why can't the magazines publishers who "claim" to be so concerned about dogs and animals in general put their money where their mouth is and refrain from pursing $$$ to advertise shitty products like Eukanuba in their magazines???
