I have a friend who swears that, in some states, Schutzhund trained dogs must be registered as a legal weapon. She met a gentleman with visual disabilites, who had a very nicely trained guide dog with him on an airplane flight. The man was not always blind, and he breds working dogs. He showed her a certificate from the state of Texas that registered one of his dogs as a "weapon". He told her he had to carry it with him when he traveled with that dog. I told her I've never heard of this before. Does anyone know anything about this? Thanks. Veronica in Alaska.

To my knowledge not in any state per say do you have to, but in some Counties or Cities you might have to? I know of several Counties as well Cities around that you have to do so. IN most its against the Law to own a Protection odg of anykind unless its registered with the PD there. But In Texas thats not a direct law! And Hiya Verconia! Jerry
