Thanks all, for the help on my prior question. And yes, pedigree is not all I want by anymeans. Looking for a female I can title to at least a SchH 1 or 2 depending on her tempermant. Right now I have 2 male working lines and then our female working line and i have a female work/show mix who is just a house companion. As I am unfamiliar with showline I am glad you can all help me find some good things and I also recieved many good emails. What do you guys reccomend getting a older dog who is prelimmed and starting to show what she'll be, or getting a puppy? Again, is this something that may depend on each breeder and contracts regarding hips? If I get a pup across seas I have people who will help me out if I am unable to fly to see the pup... Also what is a REASONABLE price for a showline female in the states and in Germany/Belgium????? In the states I have seen them at $2500 and is say NO WAY. But is 1500-2000$ a reasonable price, and is 800EURO what showline over seas may go for? More? Less? Thanks guys you are lots of help. And yes I always do my research, know to many who are ignorant and have been burnt. Vereinigte

It is not possible to tell exactly that the pup will be what you want, can be more exact with an older dog. That way what you see is what you get.

Should you decide on a puppy please check out Staudt Kennel in Denmark. Neils Christian Staudt is the owner and is listed in this web site. He got me the finest young fellow you have ever seen. This man is so honest and forth right, you will find joy in dealing with him and his lovely family. Good luck.

its amazing that some german line puppies sell for more in the states than in germany lol you can also find basically the same pedigree in a puppy say in Argentina or Brazil and its only 600.00 US and the quality is really the same as it would be here or in Germany. The dams go back to famous german lines and the sires they do use the german/dutch/spanish/italian etc sires VA, V rated etc.... but you just have to do your homework and get direct references... and as always puppies are a crap shoot!!!! been there done that, had pet quality go show, had show go pet lol still loved them just as much just their little bodies changed and didnt go back Regards, Dawnmarie

Orca Mom .... can you give some additional info on the Staudt kennel you mentioned? I would like to check them out but I can't seem to find them. I am probably overlooking something.

Vereinigte, The reasonable puppy price should be, as what you mention 1500-2000 dollars. I'm sure you already know this by now but I would be very careful in who you are going to buy a puppy/adult dog from. If you decide to buy a puppy don't buy from the breeder who claims that the particular litter can be future "super stars" In reality no "smart" breeder would sell any of their "best pick" pups. I wouldn't fall into the scam of "World class litter". Here's the fallowing kennels that I recommend. vom haus Santo ( URL http://vomhaussanto.telenet.be/ ) I know somebody with a Vom haus santo dog ( a bitch) and I must say that I deeply fell in love with her. I was almost courage of wanting to get a pup from her and to my friends stud dog. LOL I couldn't stop giving my friend compliments about her. They also produced a gorgeous male, Zamax vom haus santos. They are known to produce good working dogs, that are showlines. As for the rest go to http://www.adelplatz.nl/links.html ( including the site it's self).

Von Haus Santo is a good kennel here in Belgium. I worked with a few dogs from Haus Santo and they are not just beautiful but also good working dogs. Backx Vom Haus Santo is Belguim 2004 Sieger!!! There are also some nice kennels in Nederland: http://www.duitseherders.com/ , try out this website and click on "fokkers" (breeders)or you can try out http://www.duitseherder.nl/2003/. Good luck :)

Attn: Corieone I'm glad you asked about the wonderful Kennel Staudt. Boy, I really kissed a lot of European frogs and more than a few American ones too before I found this small family run kennel in Denmark. Try www.KennelStaudt.dk. I have other numbers to contact him if you can't get him. Just let me know.

If your in the U.S., visit Bullinger kennels in Canada. I just bought a Keven v Murrtal female and Tracy the Owner is a sweetheart. I was guided by you all hunting Keven again. She is highly particular what one does with her puppies however! She asks from Kevin 2,000, others 1500 and I feel she has maybe the utmost best competition record of anybody. I know of some wonderful breeders in Germany and other countries that are honest and sell to you what you ask for, if u ask for a video and lots of photos and ask for a top puppy for whatever your going to do, they will go out of their way so you get it. Most German People love their dogs, a few make it hard for the good Breeders in Germany. I have had German families in my home and they are wonderful Breeders of Trust and Love.! They highly guard their reputations and Web Sites all over the net. Then their are the Breeders that sell you what they have left. They do not care only about the money. And, I feel if a Breeder must ask more then 2,000 for a puppy, they are breeding for money only. Get a written good warranty also. See the parents, check the entire pedigree for HD in the lines at all. Also, check for other features as testicles, eyes, bleeders, heart, thyroid etc. Research is your best base before buying. Ask for references and check them out! Most ALL reputable breeders do the hips and elbows and other tests are run depending on what your going to pay for the puppy. Look to see the actual OFA label of A or A Fast Normal, DNA numbers and anything else they advertise. The SV stamp is on year olds imported on the back of the K. paper. Ask about vetting and check on that also. Many do not even go to the problem of vetting puppies, its all about money to keep the bills paid or whatever????

GSDLUVR: YOUR SO RIGHT. HE HAS MOST OR ALL WEST GERMAN DOGS.?? HE MAKES NO SENSE TO TELL HER TO STAY IN THE U.S. IN OTHER WORDS, HE DOES NOT TRUST GERMANS? I WONDER WHO HE DEALS WITH? THAT WAS THE WRONG THING TO TELL A PERSON STARTING OFF FOR AFTER ALL WHERE DID OUR GERMAN SHEPHERDS DERIVE FROM????
