A lot of people here in Spain have asked me this question. Would you pease be so kind and give some more info on him? I certainly would appreciate it! Tank you very much in advance!

Yoker is one of the most correct structured dogs Europe has ever produced and therefore a very correct moving animal. His bite work on the DVD was fine. His pedigree is top notch having a VA 3 mother. The light saddle is the only draw back.

by Imran on 18 September 2004 - 19:09

proportions are not correct, too long in the back and the hind angulation is at the limit.

Why do you think he rated lower than people thought he would be at the German Siegerschau 2004? Thank you, Lenny and Imram for your answers, but I would be very grateful if I could hear more opinions or more details.

He did not go place higher or go VA for a few reasons. - He's from Denmark (politics) - Progeny too young to show - Already too many representatives from the Ursus line of equal or better quality that were GERMAN BRED. * Keep in mind SG2 last year & V2 this year is certainly nothing to sneeze at. I believe that with a uniform progeny group next year it will be hard for politics to stop him from going VA.

I would like to know about his temperment - I hear that he is wonderful.

Karat's Yoker is a wonderful dog and V2 is an excellent placement!!!!!!!1 However, he did not VA simply because he just didnt. Because if it was: - He's from Denmark (politics) - Progeny too young to show - Already too many representatives from the Ursus line of equal or better quality that were GERMAN BRED. If all this is true then why was Karat's Ulk in the VA-5 position?

by Hunter on 23 September 2004 - 12:09

Very simple, Karat's Ulk along with the other "Ursus line" dogs showed themselves better on this day than Joker in the eyes of Herr Orschler....Why else? Joker has been used EXTENSIVLY by all of the TOP kennels in Germany this past year, and at the youngest age, this would prove to be a solid endorsement for the dog. His showing next year along with the presentaion of his progeny group will tell the story for the future of this fabulous male.

Don¿t forget that Yoker has produced a lot in Denmark. He has produced ok, But in all honesty he has only so far produced two great dogs. Both had an overbite and was draw from the Danish sieger. Hopefully he has better luck in Germany. He will most proberly produce at least a couple of new VA in Germany. Karat¿s Ulk has a brother in Denmark almost as god and a extremly god producer. Maybe you would consider him when Yoker and Ulk are full.

Yoker's proportions are perfect. He is an absolute 8 1/2 to 10. His rear quarter is perfect. He has a croup that is 8 1/2 inches long angled at about 30 degrees. His tibia is slightly longer than his femur allowing for a 90 degree angle with the foot directly under the hip socket. As seen on the DVD he is the only male in the first group with an absolutely straight topline as called for in the German standard. His forehand matches his rear quarter thus allowing for the scapular and femur to parallel, and the tibia and humerus to parallel, at the maximum point of contraction of each assembly, again as called for in the standard. As I said previously he is one of the best structured dogs Europe has ever produced. There have been only a handful of males over the years at the SHZS with these anatomical virtues.
