Can anyone confirm this dog's demise, and if so, has a cause of death been determined at this point? Four years of age is far too young to have to lose one's dog, and if this has happened my heartfelt condolences to his owners, handlers, breeder and friends. Can't help but wonder if the dog was placed so poorly (U2, I believe?) because something was amiss with him, unbeknownst to his owners, his handler or the judges...

If this is true, this is a HORRIBLE loss. He looked to be producing well, and from what I have heard, his working ability was superb. Again, if this is true, my deepest condolences go out to all that were involved with this fantastic animal. What an incredible loss.

Does anyone know if Yak is on a web site. I have a nice female puppy from him.

Thanks to all who responded to this question and set the record straight. Since the initial report of Yak's passing was plunked in the midst of a thread which was asking why a completely different dog didn't do well (see thread: "What happend??", by Betoro--30 Aug), I wondered if there was any truth to it, and didn't want it to pass unnoticed and unsubstantiated. Am very glad to hear that the report of his death was incorrect, though I am sorry to learn he was hit by a car. Hopefully his injuries are minor at worst and he'll enjoy many healthy years to come.
