We are currently looking for a trainer in Germany, who has a young male from our kennel for titling. The owners of the male have asked for his immediate return to the USA, and the trainer is refusing. Now, since the owners are going to take action with higher authorities to get the dog back, the trainer has seemed to have disappeared, and will not longer answer the home phone or cell phone, return messages, or answer e-mails.... The owners of the dog are not being unreasonable, they just want their dog home immediately, safe and sound. Their trust they once had in this trainer, is completely gone....

There is only one side presented here. Chances are there is another side to the story. This is a common problem on this board and boards in general when one side is presented. No one knows what is happening. Everyone draws independent conclusions. Training in Germany is a complex set of circumstances with any trainer. Usually hard feelings arise from expectations that are unreasonable or money issues. I have never known a trainer not to release a dog unless they have not been paid. Why would any trainer want to keep a dog? It makes no sense. Space is limited. I think there's more to this story than printed here. jbbrbx, If the dog is registered in your name you can request a replacement pedigree. You can do this with the SV if you are a member or through USA. You can register with USA at the same time. Expect the process to take at least 6 months or so. It will be simple if you are the current registered owner as you stated. The request must be processed and published in the SV Zeitung. There is a response period allowed after the request is published. I personally would follow up and wait a little longer. If they were transferred to your name only a month ago, that's not a long time to get to you. Don't forget the bescheinigung also. You'll need that to register with AKC.

Hi Randy, I know the person in question here and trust me is a very bad person. Of course the people now involved in this situation were warned 4 years ago about using this certain German trainer. But they made the choice to go with this trainer because she was CHEAP and a smooth talker with very good English communication. This trainer has a history of keeping people's dogs, breeding them and wanting all by her name. She is also CHEAP at the onset but then when it is time to return the dog she has added additional charges that bring her fees to more than any other person charges! Two years ago Mr. Rieker assisted me in getting papers from this said trainer for a friend of mine in USA after this person refused to have contact with the people or send the papers - well it turns out this was due to the fact that this certain trainer had LIED about the actual father of said dog. The most interesting point is that this trainer, she, has an EXTENSIVE web page promoting herself and all she does and what an expert she is. I have yet to see her by a show or event, as I would love to confront her face to face as that is my way. I have NEVER had dealings with this person as I am very particular in what person I trust with my dogs and to provide me with dogs and this so called trainer is to below my social level for me to converse with - but she has MANY MANY times spoken bad of dogs I have provided to persons in USA. Normal I do not respond to such personal things on this list but in this case I will say that the person in question is really as bad as she is being presented her, much has been documented regarding her ethics and is now being composed professionaly so that it may be presented to the SV to see what action they can take to control some of this. Since this person makes 100% of her living from the dogs and adveristes herself as such a professional trainer I am confident that when presented with documented facts the SV will be able to provided some assistance to people. Yeah!!!! At least he's home. I'm sure it's a lesson learned.

Yes but Jennifer you had to send over a SUBSTANTIAL additional amount of money to said trainer to get him returned. The was way above the amount you had already paid for the training, that was NOT done. And now you have him back but he has no clue what the words "sitz" or "platz" represent - amazing considering said trainer trialed the dog for the BH 7 weeks ago - of course she did fail as he RAN off the field from her and would not return. I would like all the facts stated here clearly, please. Mandy West

"you had to send over a SUBSTANTIAL additional amount of money to said trainer to get him returned. The was way above the amount you had already paid for the training, that was NOT done." Isn't that considered Extortion or were the additional funds actually Randsom?

Yes Dog1, There are two sides to every story...and we are still waiting to hear the other side of this one, and why there couldn't be a peaceful agreement.... There is absolutely no reason that this had to come to an angry conclusion. But, when reasonable communication fails, then something needs to happen. We were more than willing to work with the trainer and be fair to all involved... The only request was that the dog be sent home as soon as possible....

Oh Saoa- GINA, please do, it would be a great pleasure. It would nice if you could post your name, or am I to assume you are a coward that hides behind a "call" name in order to say all what you want. No worries I am educated as to who you really are - the famous Wienerau promoter of New Mexico, LOLOLOLOL:) I will be with a group of 14 Americans, 4 of which have had very bad dealings with said "trainer" in the past. I am sure they will have great imput. It will be a great pleasure to speak with you since I am told you are responsible for a certain email I received. Be careful who you vouch for when you don't know what you are getting yourself involved with. I have much dogs showing next week and will be busy with friends, but I will make special time to speak with you, although I feel it is a great waste of my breath as you obviously have no idea what you have gotten yourself in the middle of.
